The Sci-fi Channel?
Jun 6 2009, 1:59 PM EDT
Since 1992 when I was among the lucky choice few who received an invitation to view a preview of "T2: Judgment Day" in theaters, I've been a fan of the Terminator genre. Following that, I rushed out and rented "The Terminator", and watched it for the first time. After that, I was hooked for good. Although some people gave T3 bad reviews, I thought it was great. Possibly because I was starved for a continuation of the story, I don't know. Same goes for T4. And, I think that's what "The Sarah Connor Chronicles" is all about. A continuation of the storyline. Terminator Fans want more. FOX did good by making it into a series. Unfortunately, like all TV networks, ultimately they're only concerned with the bottom line (and what interests those dumb Neilsen families). Does anyone here remember "Sliders" from back in the 90's? It was a very kool show about a group of people who jumped from one alternate earth (parallel dimensions) to another, trying to find their way home. Anyway, it only aired on FOX for 3 Seasons, and was canceled. But, the Fan base was so intense that the Sci-Fi Channel bought the show, and not only aired the re-runs, but created 2 all new seasons. Perhaps that's the way to go here. Perhaps petitioning the Sci-fi Channel rather than FOX to pick up Terminator has a better chance of success. After all, it's right up their alley! |
