"1. Sarah was supposed to go on a date with Stan Morsky on the night of Arnie’s attack. Sarah did not have a steady boyfriend. I think Sarah and Stan would have slept together that night and she would have gotten pregnant with the first John.

2. If Sarah had gone out with Stan, Arnie would not have been able to find her. Arnie thought Ginger was Sarah so he killed her.

3. Something that Kyle did after he arrived caused Stan to break the date with Sarah. Remember Kyle’s arrival was observed by the derelict in the alley, and Kyle eluded police and stole clothing in the department store. He also stole the shotgun from the police car and stole another car. Stan could have been a police investigator or a psychiatrist interviewing the derelict or a scientist asked to examine the burn marks from the time sphere. If Kyle had not jumped to the present, Sarah would have discovered Ginger’s murder after her date, called the police, and gone into hiding. She would have been safe, especially if Arnie thought he had completed his mission and powered down.

4. When Sarah saw the news report on TV during her dinner in the restaurant, she got scared and started walking. When Kyle followed her, she saw him and she got more scared. That was what got her to go into the TechNoir disco and call Ginger, inadvertently letting Arnie know that he had killed the wrong girl and giving her location.

5. So, if Kyle had not arrived, Stan and Sarah would have made out, Sarah would have avoided Arnie, and the first John would have been born. Arnie would have failed."
