The new terminator, Alex, enlisting the help of the Connors (and with a gift from Future John to repair Cameron), travels to San Diego to find the two missing scientists. The Connors soon discover that a Skynet worse than the one Kyle, Uncle Bob, and Cameron warned about is here, in the past, attempting to manipulate events to assure its own creation and world domination. Old enemies from Alex's past are here in the present and soon the Connors will discover the future is far more complicated than Human versus Machine.
