Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles - News, Spoilers, Pictures, Profiles, Forums, and Live Commentary

'Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles' Ups the Ante in Season 2 Premiere
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles spent no time catching its breath in last night's second season finale. Is it safe to say that Terminator is officially the most action-filled series on television? It just doesn't stop, and it all looks pretty good for being on a television budget. It's not hollow, either, which is actually the most important part. Action without underlying substance is a recipe for disaster, and Josh Friedman has imbued the Terminator characters with real and unexpected depth. Anyone who continues to hate on this show (and I know you're out there) is just being stubborn. It's not perfect, but it's the rare genre series that delivers what the viewers want nearly episode. Yesterday's Terminator season premiere could very well have worked as the second part of last year's finale, as it picked up exactly where the finale left off. But, let's get to what everyone is discussing on this fine morning – the end of the episode twist.
Terminator: Season 2 Premiere, "Samson and Delilah" Recap
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles began its season tonight with an extension of its first season finale. The action picks up literally the second the finale left off, and the entire episode takes place on the same day as the finale. It was a nice action-packed way to begin the second season, and it was also a good place for viewers new to Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles to pick up the story.

Previously on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles – Cameron is blown to bits thanks to a car bomb from Sarkissian. Cromartie massacres twenty or so agents, though suspiciously leaves Agent Ellison alive.
Exclusive Video Interview: Thomas Dekker and Summer Glau, from 'Terminator'
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles premieres its second season tonight on FOX. We left off Terminator with a massacre at the hands of evil robot Cromartie, some nice male bonding between John Connor and Derek Reese, and good robot Cameron getting blown up on her way to buy a birthday cake. Season two will continue on with the saga of the Connor clan in one of the more underrated series on television. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles debuted to merely OK ratings last season, though that was during the writers' strike, so the numbers were ultimately a little disappointing. But, FOX is looking for that to change with the new season. Last month, we got a chance to sit down with Thomas Dekker and Summer Glau, two of Terminator's stars, and discuss the second season. You can find the full video of the interview below.
Exclusive Video Interview: Brian Austin Green, from 'Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles'
It could not have worked out better for Brian Austin Green on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. What was a controversial and much-derided casting decision among Terminator fans, turned into the most surprisingly successful return to television by any actor last year. Almost no one expected Brian Austin Green to be good on Terminator, let alone me. So, it was with incredible surprise that Brian Austin Green showed up as Derek Reese on Terminator and rocked it. Part of it was the very cool character that Josh Friedman and company created, but Green brought a lot to the table as well, hopefully putting the ghost of David Silver firmly in his past. Green is back for Terminator's second season, and at a recent press junket in Los Angeles, we got the chance to speak with the man himself about the upcoming season. You will find the full video of our interview below.
Exclusive Video Interview: Richard T. Jones, from 'Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles'
Richard T. Jones is a man of conviction. His presence is immediately felt in any room the man walks into. Incredibly engaging and preternaturally kind, Richard T. Jones would almost be a parody of superficial love-hungry actors if he wasn't so incredibly genuine. Jones is the most over-looked main cast member of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles as Agent Ellison, the skeptical authority figure who has a past with Sarah Connor. Agent Ellison played a vital role in Terminator's season one finale, bearing witness to a brutal massacre. For some incomprehensible reason, Ellison was spared, and it is from this uncertainty that Richard T. will begin Terminator's second season. Below you will find the full video interview we conducted with Richard at the FOX Fall press junket earlier this month.
'Terminator' Conference Call with Josh Friedman and Lena Headey
This morning, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles creator and show runner Josh Friedman joined star Lena Headey in a media conference call to talk about the upcoming season of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. The series picks up after a too-brief nine episode first season, and fan anticipation is high. The duo discussed what we can expect from season two, what direction some of the plot lines are going, and where Terminator is headed thematically. Highlights from the conference call can be found below.
Exclusive Interview: Leven Rambin and Garret Dillahunt, from 'Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles'
Garret Dillahunt is everywhere. The highly-regarded character actor has graced our television sets in a prolific manner in previous years, appearing on ER, Book of Daniel, Deadwood, John from Cincinnati, and now Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. He's also been in some big films, including The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford and No Country For Old Men. Leven Rambin, on the other hand, is a new name, having gone from the soap opera world to landing a role on the new season of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. We got a chance to speak with the two actors in person recently at the FOX Fall Press Junket about the upcoming Terminator season.

Below you will find the full mp3 audio of our conversation.

Since being sexy is almost a requirement these days for young stars on soap operas, it's no surprise that Leven Rambin will undoubtedly win over more than her fair share of male admirers. The All My Children star joins the cast of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles for season 2 as John's new high school friend (though new doubt they'll stay just friends for long).

Don't Miss the Boat on 'Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles'
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles is deserving of your attention. It's surprising that the series hasn't become a bigger phenomenon. Although it was, technically, the highest rated new series of the last TV season, this has a lot to do with The Sarah Connor Chronicles premiering in the middle of the writers' strike, against no competition, and after excessive hype from FOX. The series only aired nine episodes in its first season, but those were enough to kick off a worthy extension of the Terminator mythology, while creating something entirely its own. Show runner Josh Friedman has a clear vision for the franchise, and anyone who loves action or sci-fi owes it to themselves to tune in. If you missed the first season, no problem. Starting August 10, FOX will be re-airing the season in its entirety in the weeks leading up to the fall season.
Live from Comic-Con: 'Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
Check out the rest of our coverage from San Diego Comic-Con.

The Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles cast and crew are a jolly bunch. And, they probably should be. The series arrived last season with the utmost skepticism. Rightly so, too – film to television adaptations rarely work out. But, thanks to a lot of hype and an impressive pilot, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles became the highest-rated new show of last season. Today, the Comic-Con crowd was given a special sneak peek at the second season, plus a lively discussion with the entire cast, including newcomer Shirley Manson (lead singer of Garbage).

'Terminator' Producer, Stars Talk Evolution for Second Season
Terminator: The Sarah Connor ChroniclesThe second season of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles is to premiere on September 8, and in anticipation of that, the show's producers and stars talked about upcoming changes to the program on their recent press tour in Los Angeles.

Like most shows, Terminator's first season was forced to pack up early due to the writers' strike, and producer Josh Friedman is intent on using some of the ideas for that season into the new season. “We had stuff planned for a whole season arc that we didn't get to and we're still working off some of the material in a macro sense, but in terms of the micro sense, it's different,” he said.
Comic-Con: Full Programming Schedule Revealed
Summer Glau, Thomas DekkerIt's absolutely impossible for one person to attend San Diego Comic-Con and see everything of interest. The schedule is so jam-packed with panels, celebrities, special screenings and Q&As that things often overlap each other and create conflicts of interest. For example, if you want to see the stars of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles you're going to have to miss the panels for Lost and Heroes. Want to see the cast of Pushing Daisies? Prepare to miss the cast of Chuck. While Comic-Con is a TV fan's dream come true, it can also be a regular Sophie's Choice full of gut-wrenching decisions.

The folks behind Comic-Con recently released the busy schedule for Friday, July 25 and Saturday the 26th. Read on for all the important TV-related panels, and remember that BuddyTV will be reporting from the convention beginning next week.
Casting Round-Up: 'Terminator,' 'Knight Rider' and More
Paul CampbellNow that we're only a few months away from the kick off of the fall season, numerous television shows are recruiting new actors. Premiering programs are adding main cast members, returning series are booking recurring roles, and familiar faces from other shows are landing new, exciting jobs. It feels like nearly every actor in Hollywood is signing up for something. Let's just cross our fingers and hope that the rumored Screen Actors Guild strike, which could happen in July, doesn't derail things.

Today we have casting news for Knight Rider, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and a few other shows. Read on for all the details.
FOX to Air 'Terminator' Marathon in August
It's been obvious since Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles premiered that FOX thought very highly of the series. Their star-studded premiere of Terminator last January was a big, highly-hyped event, and the promotion for the series was far-reaching. FOX's belief in Terminator is not ill-founded; the series is good, a worthy entry into the Terminator canon. Though the series received respectable ratings numbers over its nine season one episodes, they probably weren't what FOX was hoping for. If The Sarah Connor Chronicles weren't inextricably linked to a massive film franchise (and, remember, FOX is making the fourth Terminator film as we speak) it probably wouldn't have been picked up for a second season. But, it was, and now FOX has to try and sell the show to TV viewers who declined to tune in for the first season. How will they do this? Well, FOX announced today that they will be airing all nine season one Terminator episodes in a span of two weeks this August.
'Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles' Come to DVD August 19
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles was one of the 2007-2008 television season's most pleasant surprises, impressing fans of the Terminator franchise with a dense story, quality casting and an exciting level of action for network television. Despite so-so ratings, FOX opted to pick up Terminator for a second season. The Sarah Connor Chronicles is currently in production on the second season, which will debut in September. If you missed the first season, you can get a hold of all nine first-season episodes on August 19, when FOX releases the complete first season of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles on DVD and Blu-Ray. The three-disc set is priced a little lower than your typical TV season on DVD, thanks to the abbreviated season. The DVDs will retail at $30 and the Blu-Ray at $40.
Garbage's Shirley Manson Joins 'Terminator' Cast
Shirley Manson is not a name synonymous with episodic television. The Garbage lead singer has long been a fan favorite among a certain subset of music fans, mostly of the Grunge variety, and they may not be overly enthused by her new gig: Manson has signed on to join the cast of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. FOX's Terminator is ramping up for production on season two, and Manson will play Catherine Weaver, the CEO of a state-of-the-art high-tech company. Whatever that is. The company will surely have somethiing to do with the development of SkyNet. Manson has not really dabbled in acting at all over the past two decades – Terminator will easily be her most high-profile TV work.
FOX Upfronts: Fall Schedule Revealed - 'Fringe' on Tuesdays
FOX is the final network to have its upfronts this week. As far as upfront weeks go, it hasn't been the most exciting. In this Internet age we live in, secrets are almost impossible to keep – we all knew which shows were being canceled and which weren't. We knew which new series were going to be picked up. The one thing that networks can keep secret, however, are their final schedules. FOX released two schedules today, one for Fall and one for the Spring. Below, you will find the Fall schedule, followed by a look at the new series and some commentary.
Terminator 4: A Scrap Heap of News
With the news that Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles has been renewed by FOX for a second season, fans can rest easy and think about other things. Like Terminator 4. The fourth installment in the Terminator franchise, which stars Christian Bale as a grown John Connor, has begun filming (just today, in fact) and the news keeps pouring in. Earlier this week, Variety reported that Terminator 4 (or, as it is properly being called “Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins”) will be the first in the series to be rated PG-13. In other news, rapper and sometimes actor Common has been cast as a rebel freedom fighter, and there are rumors that Josh Brolin (No Country for Old Men) has been tapped to play the “terminator” role in Terminator Salvation.
FOX Announces Summer Schedule, 'Terminator' Opposite 'Prison Break' on Mondays
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles is coming back for its second season in the Fall. The series was thought to be in danger of cancellation, but FOX recently made the announcement that the series will be returning for its second season – unfortunately, not a whole lot of people watched the first season. If you were one of those people, who foolishly shunned Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles the first time around, do not fret. You don't have to wait for the DVD or illegally download a large torrent file; FOX is going to re-air the first season at the end of the summer. In addition, FOX announced much of its summer schedule, and it gives a hint at what the FOX Fall schedule may look like.
'Terminator' Conference Call with Josh Friedman - Brian Austin Green a Series Regular, and More
Josh Friedman is a man who did the impossible. He made a TV version of a beloved film franchise that wasn't ripped to shreds by the franchise's fans. The first time show runner presided over the creatively successful first season of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Ratings-wise, there were issues – the show didn't get the kind of numbers FOX would have liked. But, it was recently announced that FOX has picked up Terminator for a full second season. Friedman held a web-media only conference call today to discuss the pick-up and what we can expect from season 2 of Terminator.
'Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles' Renewed for Season 2
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles has been renewed for a second season. This is news that we've all been anticipating for some time now. It'd been reported weeks ago that the Terminator crew had been told to staff up by FOX, and all indications from the FOX executives pointed to a renewal. However, you can never be too sure with these things, and this seemingly final confirmation should finally put Terminator fans at ease. The source of this Terminator news comes from TV Guide's venerable Michael Ausiello, whose scooping abilities are incomparable in the TV world – he's rarely wrong. So, even though FOX itself has yet to confirm Terminator's renewal, there's about a 99.6% chance that it's true.
Bubble Watch: 'Terminator', 'Moonlight', 'How I Met Your Mother' Looking Good
It's getting to be that time of the year again. Will your favorite, under appreciated TV show be renewed for another season? If you think your sweating it out as a fan, think of the hundreds of jobs that hinge on the TV executives' decisions. There are a few big names on the bubble this year, and we have some scoop on where their fates may lie. A couple days back, The Hollywood Reporter spoke briefly with the entertainment head honchos for ABC, CBS, FOX and the CW about where some of the bubble shows stand. Would you like to know the possible fate of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles? How I Met Your Mother? Moonlight? Reaper? Read on to find out.
'Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles' Getting Ready for Season 2?
Typically, I'm pessimistic about stuff like this. My balancing act between pessimism and optimism has long been a source of both annoyance and disappointment, with hopeless optimism leading to heartbreak and unnecessary pessimism annoying anyone who witnesses it. This duality is no more apparent than with the renewal of television shows. I can never just throw my hands in the air and say “I don't know if this series will be renewed. It's 50/50.” Instead, I either blindly assume a show will be canceled or blindly assume a show will be renewed. In the case of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, I've recently been making peace with the fact that it'd probably be canceled. However, it looks as if my assumptions were wrong. According to TV Guide's Michael Ausiello, it appears that Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles is gearing up for production on season 2.
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles: Close to Renewal?
At least it's something. Ever since the two-hour season one finale of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles aired, fans have been waiting for some news – Will The Sarah Connor Chronicles return for a second season? The series was well-received by critics and fans alike, though the ratings weren't eye-popping. However, given the amount of press and publicity FOX put into The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and how big the Terminator franchise is, you'd hope that they'd renew the series for at least one more season. Well, if we are to believe E! Online writer and gossip guru Kristin Veitch, then Terminator is indeed coming back to FOX next season.
Terminator: Show Creator Credits Writers' Strike for Successful Finale Timing
terminatorThanks to the writers' strike, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles reached its final destination serendipitously. With a stroke of luck, show creator Josh Friedman and cast of the sci-fi series was able to deliver the show's first season finale that left viewers with enough revelations and cliffhangers to leave them wanting for more.

While "Vick's Chip" and "What He Beheld," the eighth and ninth installment of the pilot season which aired on March 3, never intended to be the season finale by the makers of Terminator, it ended up being so due to the strike. The episodes saw Sarah, John, Cameron and Derek working together to disable Skynet's future surveillance network. It also featured Agent Ellison and a SWAT team attempting to take down the FBI impostor, Derek taking out John for his birthday, and as the series came to a close, Cameron's fate left unknown.
