Chapter 2This is a featured page

Despite everything Sarah had been through in the 17 years since the first T800 set its sights on her, having a machine that basically runs on batteries express a desire for human food was something she had never prepared herself for. So profound was the comment that Sarah found herself at a loss for words and simply entered the restaurant where Cameron was already at the hostess stand.

She looked up as she saw Sarah enter and then turned back to the hostess and said "I guess it will be two of us after all."

The hostess led them to one of the many empty tables in a secluded area of the restaurant. It's not like they had few seating options. It was about 2PM on a Tuesday. The lunch rush was over and it would be a few more hours before the evening dinner staff and patrons would start to come in.

The hostess departed as Cameron and Sarah took their seats not saying anything. Cameron picked up her menu and started browsing while Sarah sat motionless, staring at her. Cameron noticed this, and placed her menu down on the table and said "I guess I should explain this?"
"That would be very helpful" Sarah said in an almost exasperated tone. Sarah was a bit undone by this strange turn of events. It was only natural. Although it had been a while since Cameron's malfunction, she had never recovered 100%. She had exhibited behavior ranging from slightly quirky, to downright terrifying, but this, sitting in a restaurant ordering lunch was downright bizarre. Images of John flashed in her mind and she hoped this current behavior from Cameron wasn't an indicator that she was going to try and kill him again.

It was at that point when Cameron interrupted her thoughts.
"I did some research on restaurants, and from all the material I could gather. . . viewing their menus online, and watching their ads on TV and youtube, I determined that The Olive Garden was an ideal place for you and I to have lunch today."

Sarah was yet again rendered speechless by yet another profound statement in a series of profound statements the machine had uttered in the past few minutes. She didn't know what to think so she blurted out the first thing on her mind.
"And how did you come to this conclusion by viewing ads on youtube?"
"Well, Olive Garden has endless salad and bread sticks. That suggests their target customers are women, especially overbearing women. It also seems to appeal to homosexual males and henpecked husbands, but for the latter, I suspect that has to do with their overbearing women telling them they will eat there and like it."
"So you decided that since we're two women, we should have lunch at The Olive Garden?" was Sarah's reply.
"Well... Sort of" said Cameron. "I'm trying to be a young woman, but you are one, and you can be pretty overbearing at times, so I thought you might like it.
Sarah was feeling a bit adventurous at this point. She figured that if the machine were going to snap and try to kill her, there wasn't much she could do to stop it. Besides, it was hot outside and cool inside and she needed a break from the hot cab of the truck.
Sarah started to say "you said you were hungry..." but Cameron abruptly cut her off even though she heard the question.
"Our server is coming. BTW they don't like to be called waitresses these days. Apparently it's sexist."

The server approached the table and went through her song and dance about "have you ever visited an Olive Garden..." Even though Cameron had never been to one, she seemed to instinctively know that now was the time for one of her trademark lies and said "yes, we've been here before" and with a fake smile "it's our favorite place." She knew that would get the server to shut up.

She then said "right now I'll have a Diet Coke." And then she looked at Sarah and said "you should have a drink, you're going to need it, and don't worry, I can drive." Sarah noticed the beginning of a smirk forming on Cameron's mouth and looked at the waitress.

"Martini. Vodka. Stoli if you have it. Dry. Rocks. No olives."

Cameron decided to have some fun with this.
"Gee mom, why didn't you just order a shot of straight booze?" as she turned from Sarah to the waitress to gauge both reactions.

The waitress was thinking to herself: this should be good. The bitch daughter is really getting under her mother's skin and it's going to get worse. I bet she's either pregnant, screwing the step dad, or about to tell her about a tattoo she got in Mexico with her friends last weekend.

"We'd like to look at the menu for a few more minutes please" said Cameron, and the waitress disappeared to get their drinks.
She looked back at Sarah and said "So I guess you're wondering why I'm hungry?"
