Synopsis

Emmy Award winner Richard Schiff (“The West Wing”) makes a special guest appearance in an all-new episode. Sarah’s mystifying nightmares creep into her real life – but what do they mean for her and John? Meanwhile, Derek and Jesse investigate a possible Skynet conspirator. There are three concurrent storylines:

  • Sarah has fever dreams about triplets of turtles at a nursery, three cactii (one hugs John) and she visits Dr. Sherman who has 3 things on a small table

  • Jesse and Derek kidnap, torture and kill Mr. Fischer from the future. They change young Fischer's fate in the present so he can become the "worst of them all" grey in the future.

  • Cameron claims to have sensation and care about music

Unanswered Questions

  • What is this new timeline that Jesse and Derek were talking about?

  • How did Jesse find the senior Fischer to begin with?

  • What do the three dreams mean?

  • What were the three things on the table?

Best Moments

  • Sarah helps a turtle that's stuck on its back. This later inspires Cameron to help Ellison after she kicks his butt.

  • Ellison opens the car trunk and shows Catherine Weaver the Cromartie Terminator that he recovered from the desert.

  • Cameron turns Ellison over after she pummels him unconcious

Best Quotes

  • Sarah: It was my fault.
    John: What was your fault?
Sarah: Cromartie I led him to you.
John: What are you talking about?
Sarah: There was this kid, a boy in the bowling alley. He was with the guys who broke into our house. I knew what I had to do John and didn't do it. I let him go. Cromartie must have found him.
    John: We're not murderers. <pause> You're not.
Sarah: Tell it to the boy. I'm sure he's dead.

  • Derek: Complicated

  • Jesse to Derek: Noone ever comes back without a mission.

  • John to Sarah: we're not murderers

  • John: What are you doing?Cameron: Feeling what it's like to get away from it all.John: I don't think you are.Cameron: What do you mean?John: If by feelings you mean emotions; I'm pretty sure you still don't have any of those. If by feeling you mean what it feels like to have the wind blow through your toes or your hair. <pause> I'm pretty sure you can't feel that either.
Cameron: I don't think you understand how we work. <pause> I have sensation. I feel. I wouldn't be worth much if I couldn't feel.

  • Ellison: We need to learn how they work. How to fight them. <long pause> We can't allow history to repeat itself. Not when we have the power to stop it. It's up to us now. The two of us.
    Weaver: Yes, it is.

  • FBI Agent: "Computers don't lie"

  • Ellison to Catherin Weaver after she inspects Cromarties "lifeless" chassis that Ellison brought to her: It's up to us now - the two of us
    Catherine: Yes, it is.

  • Episode Trivia

    • Adam Busch had a recurring role as Warren in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

    • "The tortoise lays on its back, its belly baking in the hot sun, beating its legs trying to turn itself over but it can't. Not without your help. But you're not helping."

"What do you mean, I'm not helping?"

"I mean you're not helping! Why is that, Leon?"

~ Voigt Kampff test from Blade Runner

    • In the scene where the younger Charles Fischer is shown a list of names of people by FBI Agent Baldwin, the names of staff writers (Zack Stentz, Ashley Miller, Ian Goldberg) and executive producers (Josh Friedman, John Wirth) can be seen.

    • Executive Producers credits overlay was on Derek and Jesse. We can see Derek's face but we don't see Jesse's. Jesse was walking away from him.

Maybe I'm just being a perv here (say so if you think that's the case) - but did anyone else pick up an unspoken "If I can feel the cool air blowing on my pretty, healthy bare feet - then doesn't that make you curious as to what and where else I can feel pleasant sensations? Wouldn't you like to help me find out?" vibe from Cameron to John during that conversation?

Unfortunately, John yet again seemed oblivious to the fact that his pet femmebot was giving him the come-on.

franktie Realistically speaking do humans really have a chance against skynet? (page: 1 2) 25 Dec 10 2008, 10:00 AM EST by kymeric

I am a big fan of the show, but I wonder if mankind can actually survive/overcome a real life scenario where skynet/terminators take over. As a human, I'd like to think we are clever and resilient enough to defend ourselves, but we're pretty fragile organic creatures that need food (where would we grow the food?) and can succumb to biological/chemical/nuclear agents.
