The Tin Man's War by bryan0711
After the events in Mexico, John Connor is forced to accept his loss. A new terminator from the future, allied to Tech Com, is sent back in time to find two scientists who were instrumental in the development of technology for both Skynet and the human Resistance. The new terminator, Alex, enlisting the help of the Connors (and with a gift from Future John to repair Cameron), travels to San Diego to find the two missing scientists. The Connors soon discover that a Skynet worse than the one Kyle, Uncle Bob, and Cameron warned about is here, in the past, attempting to manipulate events to assure its own creation and world domination. Old enemies from Alex's past are here in the present and soon the Connors will discover the future is far more complicated than Human versus Machine.
