"Riley is in no way a "brave, spooky ninja." If she'd had the slightest inkling of what Cromartie really is then she'd have pissed herself, fallen to her knees and begged for mercy. The fact that the trailer for the next episode has her running away and screaming like some 50s horror movie damsel in distress proves that.

Riley is merely a means for John to escape his destiny and avoid having to face up to both his fate and the events of Samson and Delilah that have plagued him since then. Ironically, if he just spoke to Cameron and Sarah, he'd have a much easier time - although would remove the tension between characters. Riley is supposed to back off from John in episode 13, according to Leven Ramblin. My guess is that she can't handle the truths of his life, and she never will. She will NOT become future Mrs Connor; that title is reserved for Cameron and Cameron alone. She's just a way for him to escape, and I think deep down he realises that. He doens't actually like her, but rather the ideal she represents; a normal relationship and a normal life. But John Connor cannot have a normal life, and I read somewhere that they wont be able to prevent Skynet, so he'll have to abandon any thoughts of "normal relationships." Cameron, however, is what Riley isn't. Strong, resilient, and knows exactly what he's going through, and isn't going to just get killed or run off when a Terminator shows up. Cameron is perfect for John, he just needs to see it.

No, I don't like Riley, she has no place with John in the long run, and I think she's stopping him from maturing into the John Connor he needs to be which is why I say no to John/Riley, and honestly believe the only true companion he could have, who he could understand and who could understand him in return, is Cameron.
