| TERMINATOR MODEL: T-HX Stealth Hunter Drone | ABOUT THIS TERMINATOR |
| Model/series information: AKA(s): N/A Featured in: N/A Created by: Skynet Research Systems Special effects: Played by: TALK ABOUT THIS TERMINATOR | Design specifications: Prototypes: The T-1000 series model. While a full fledged infiltration model of it's time, the T-1000 research served as the basis for this models unique design path. Physical appearance: Humanoid in shape, but lacking human features required by the infiltration models. The T-1000 was a direct inspiration for this model, and some mimetic versatility was sacrificed to include technology that would eventually lead to the TX series. Endoskeleton characteristics: Liquid Metal Camouflage Polyalloy skin over a modified T-900 chassis. Mimetic functionality degraded to basic visual/thermal/electrical stealth camouflage. Artificial Intelligence factors: A unique variant of other terminator models, the T-HX uses vat grown human brain cells as a biological operating core. This is the only series terminator to use a biological neural-network. (Not to be confused with the T-ICBX which uses a combination of Technological and Biological components for its neural-network.) Design mods from previous models: The mimetic functionality of an Infiltrator was unnecessary for a combat series model. The polyalloy covering is capable of optical color, thermal and electrical alterations only. A modified T-900 chassis diverts from the base models full humanoid form in favor of installed weapons and hunter drone technology. Previous Skynet AI core designs are switched out for a biological neural-network cloned from human brain cells which is housed in the central chest cavity. Design flaws: The human brain's reliance on electrical stimuli has caused the need for a rudimentary artificial "nervous system". Extreme heat or cold which exceeds the chassis and polyalloy insulative capabilities will in effect "cook" the biological systems in the core. Development history: While successful through brute strength and disguise, Skynet units (both the Hunter Killer & Terminator models) always fell back onto AI programming. While effective, an AI program will never fully mimic true intelligence in all facets (creativity, judgement etc.) and ground units were becoming increasingly vulnerable to capture and reprogramming, so research was made into replicating certain natural functions of a biological machine - one the resistance could not use against Skynet. The human brain, while biological, is the most complex "central processor" in existence. In attempts to fuel new avenues for it's neural net processor technology, Skynet used captured human biological systems in it's research. While not able to fully replicate the brain's functionality, the project was able to harness some basic creative processes, giving it an inherent advantage over current AI processors. This model saw brief use on the battlefield around 2025, and incorporated some systems from the airborne HK models to augment the ground troop T-850's. It was a truly frightening blend of technology, but the frailty and low life span of it's biological systems eventually led to an end to this branch of research and sparked effort into the TX project. Capabilites: - Camouflage Polyalloy epidermis gives this unit chameleon qualities to mimic surrounding light, texture, heat and electrical fields. - Small deployable shoulder thrusters (similar to full size HK thruster designs) give this unit very limited hover & flight ability. - Organic neural net systems unable to be reprogrammed and deployed by the resistance - Built in variety of electrical and chemical weapon systems to augment standard issue plasma weaponry. - HK grade sensor suite - Reinforced armored chassis - Environmentally sealed "brain casing" in chest cavity Combat role/modes: Ground-based Hunter/Killer unit How this Terminator infiltrates: This is a combat model terminator. There are no infiltration capabilities other than it's Polyalloy stealth epidermis. Trademark attack style: Stealth Ambush Casualty count: High Best lines: N/A Best scenes: N/A Demise: Frail biological components, while housed in a reinforced, sealed and insulated chassis, was vulnerable to extreme heat. Low life span of biological materials kept this series from becoming a front-line unit |
