After the machines failed to prevent John Connor from being born, they try again, this time attempting to kill him as a child with a more advanced terminator, the T-1000, which could change its form to imitate different people and form its limbs into weapons. As before, John sends back a protector for his younger self, a reprogrammed Terminator, identical to the one from the previous film. After ten years of preparing for the future war, Sarah decides to use the same tactics the machines used on her: prevent Skynet from being invented by destroying Cyberdyne Systems before they create it.

The film explores issues of fate, responsibility, loyalty, and the essences of humanity. It grossed $204 million and acquired four Academy Awards (Best Makeup, Best Sound, Best Visual Effects, and Best Sound Effects Editing) from its six nominations.

TERMINATOR 3: RISE OF THE MACHINES

Terminator 3 posterTerminator 3: Rise of the Machines is the 2003 sequel to the record breaking Terminator 2, directed by Jonathan Mostow and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Nick Stahl, Claire Danes, and Kristanna Loken. In a last attempt to ensure a machine victory, a new terminator, the T-X, is sent back to kill as many high ranking resistance officers as possible, including JohnConnor and his future wife Kate. The TX can imitate people like the T-1000, but it has powerful weaponry already contained instead of blades. After the future Connor is terminated by an identical model to his previous protector, Kate reprograms it and sends it back to save them both from the T-X.

This sequel, similar in tone to its predecessors, had a new director, writers, villains, and co-stars, with Schwarzenegger the sole returnee; the film grossed $150 million on a budget of $170 million (worldwide Gross: $433,371,112).

LINDA HAMILTON TRIVIA / STUFF YOU MAY NOT KNOW
    • Says she has struggled with depression most of her life and was a compulsive eater as a child.
    • Hamilton has slammed the third installment of futuristic robot thriller TERMINATOR 3 as 'soulless' – Hamilton refused to star in the update of the robot saga, saying that the first two Terminator movies were actually pretty high minded and there was a message about the human condition, but TERMINATOR 3 seemed to have no regard for human life. (December 27, 2002)
    • During her childhood Linda suffered from the fact that everybody saw her as just one with her sister. At the age of 16, this frustration lead to a severe identity crisis: she cut her hair and eyelashes and finally weighed about 167 pounds just to differ from her sister.
    • Is still very much in love with her ex-husband, director James Cameron - even though he repeatedly cheated on her.
    • In Sarah's dream sequence in TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY (1991), the Sarah Connor in the playground was played by 'Hamilton, Linda''s twin sister, 'Hamilton Gearren, Leslie'. The scene was originally to be shot with Linda playing both parts but she suggested using Leslie to make it easier to shoot. Leslie was subsequently used as a double in other scenes involving two Sarah Connors (i.e., when the T1000 was imitating her).
    • She broke her ankle prior to TERMINATOR 2 production, and had to have her leg wrapped every day so she could do her chase scenes. All the chase scenes where Linda had to run were filmed last.
    • Nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for TV at Golden Globe Awards for A MOTHER'S PRAYER (1996)
    • Nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a TV-Series - Drama at Golden Globe Awards for BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (1989)
    • Nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a TV-Series - Drama at Golden Globe Awards for BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (1987)
    • Is an LA Dodgers fan.
    • While attending Washington College, the acting professor told her she had no hope of earning a living as an actress.
    • After her role in TERMINATOR 2, she learned that she made such an impression as the pumped and ferociously tough Sarah Conner that she was typecast into being offered only roles for similarly tough characters.
    • Turned down role in TERMINATOR 3.
    • Her identical twin sister 'Leslie Hamilton Gearran' was Linda's double in TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY (1991). Leslie is seen when Sarah is remembering playing with John at the park and when the T-1000 is impersonating her.

Hello, I am a new poster here to these forums. I am not really a big fan of the Terminator series, but I do find it interesting. (sometimes much more interesting than all the garbage on the tv nowadays..but I digress)

Anyway, I would like to point out a plot hole big enough to drive a 18 wheeler through.

It starts like this
Sarah, John, and Derek are constantly fighting to destroy skynet and prevent them from ever existing.
The problem arises when you consider that the main reason why all this commotion is about is all due to poor old John, the future leader of mankind.
Hence the crux of my argument. If they were to destory skynet in present time, and prevent it from being designed, the following issues would take place.

1. They destroy skynet PERMANENTLY.
2. Because John was fathered by a guy from the future sent back in time to save Sarah, without skynet in the way, not only would he not be sent back, likey there would be not time machines to begin with in the future. (I say that because its safe to bet Skynet invented the timemachine.)
3. Because John does not exist, and skynet does not exist, Sarah has no purpose, and never ends up in a mental institute.
4. Because there is nobody to stop it, somebody reinvents Skynet.
5. havoc insues
6: Goto 1
The solution would be, rather than trying to stop Skynet, would be to work against it. Recruit people to an underground resistance early. Capture more t-888's and other terminators and convert them to the "good" side. Stockpile arms and munitions. Attempt to disable (using cameron and other teminators) Nuclear missiles from taking off to minimize fallout, craters, loss of life etc. Dont try to prevent the enevitable. Prepare for it.
I see things like this, but lol other than that and another plot hole which I have forgotten about , I think its a good series
