So the very next morning Derek wakes up Kyle and Kilee for breakfast in the camp
they get up and Derek asks them ''what do you and Kilee want to eat?''. Kyle says ''rice crispers'' Kilee has still a sad look on her little face and asks Derek ''is Sarah in heaven?'' he is about to answer her until a loud alarm go's off with Jessie says in to the loud speaker ''we have some intruders approaching the camp will all of children and injured go to the fall out escape route. Please don't wonder off please stay with armed escorts they will get to the route“. So Derek grabs Kyle and picks up Kilee and follows the armed escorts so while they follow them they see armed people surrounding their front gate outside the camp. Jessie is outside with them and asks them ''what broke the alarm?''. One of them answered very scared to Jessie ''I don't know from what I seen they look like skeletons
with large fucking guns or cannons they had red glowing eyes'' as Jessie and the rest of them look at him as a endo figure approaches them at the other end of the front gate
they all look in shock and fear of what one of them describe them was true. It fires on them shooting 4 of them Jessie yells ''RETURN FIRE WITH EXTREME PRJUDUCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'' they empty all there bullets into it but all it did was piss it off as another one showed up walking behind it and another one, before Jessie’s eyes they are now five of the endo terminators they took arm and there cannons into the gate and killing Jessie and the rest of the ones who where holding their ground with her. Derek, Kyle and Kilee can hear Jessie screams along with the rest who were killed but he still runs with them to the escape route which was located underground.
As dawn arises the smoke clears from another firefight. Eleven year old Kilee and fourteen year old Kyle immerge from the shelter with the other children. Coming towards them is Kyle's older brother Derek dressed as the rest of the soldiers. He hugs Kyle first then looks down at Kilee "Let's go" he states. They head off toward the mess hall to get everyone some breakfast. It looks like Derek is mad about something again. She sighs and sits with some of the younger children. Later that day Kyle is in school (Having been forced to go by Derek) and Derek is alone in the gym. Kilee sits unnoticed in the vents watching the shirtless Derek work out yet again. She sees the sweat sliding down over the muscles in his arms, watches as they bulge and release as he does his routine. Just then the door opens and in walks Sam. "Well Reese looking good." she smiles and runs a long fingernail across his back. Derek flinches slightly and pulls away. "Looking good yourself Sam. Care to spot me?" He indicates the bench to his right. Sam smiles "I spot you all the time." Derek moves to the bench and starts to do his weight lifts. Kilee hates it whenever Sam is around. Derek seems to like it though. Kyle says that is what adults do. Sometimes Kilee wants to hurry up and be an adult but other times she is glad that she doesn’t have the restrictions. She leaves the vent and heads to the weapons range. It is empty this time of day, so she sets her targets and picks out the crossbow, hand gun and long rifle that she wants to work on today. No one ever taught her how to use the weapons, she learned by watching the others. Derek would often bring Kyle and her to the range as he practiced. Her stance was perfect and she hit the bulls eye 9 out 10 tries with the crossbow. With the handgun she hit a perfect round, the long rifle proved the hardest for her. She only hit 7 out of 10 shots. She hears the footstep coming. She hurriedly replaces the weapons but forgets to take down the targets as she heads into the vents again. The door opens and two people walk in. Kilee hears the target being moved up, she knows they are examining it. "I wish I knew who keeps coming in here at this time." said a male voice. "This room is suppose to be unoccupied while school is in session." Said a different male voice. Then the first said “Well lets take these to Connor and see what he thinks." They leave the area just as the bell that ends the school day rings. Kilee hurries through the vents to get to the meeting spot thinking about the mysterious Connor. What would he do to find the shooter she wondered. How much trouble would she be in if she got caught? She could forget about Derek Reese then. Just then a voice behind her makes her jump. "Been off spying on my brother again?" She turns to see Kyle behind her. He has that infuriating knowing grin on his face. But before she can answer two older boys walk by "Look little Kyle and his girlfriend. The double K's" They walk off laughing. Kyle's smile turns into a glare and he says "don't listen to them." Kilee hates seeing Kyle upset, the teasing seems to be getting to him more lately. She tries to change the subject "What are we doing for our birthday next week?" They start to walk away together down the hall making plans for the one day that Derek lets them do anything they want. It has been almost 7 years sense Sarah brought Kilee to the camp, though Kyle and Derek looked after her Kilee still was suppose to live in the orphanage. The adults just found it hard to keep her there, or to find her when she didn't want to be found. Her and Kyle knew the entire camp better than anyone, and could easily hide when they wished. "Hey double K's wait up!" came a call from down the hall. They stop and wait for the speaker to catch up.
It was one of the cooks. Slightly out of breath she asks "What do you want for your birthday meal?" The two quickly tell her their order and she promises to do her best for them. Then they separate. "Kyle Derek is looking for you again" a boy about Kyle's age says as he walks by. Kilee takes the books from Kyle "I will drop these by your place you go find the caveman." Kyle smiles at their name for his brother and agrees to meet her later for supper. He then heads off in the direction of the gym. Alone again Kilee walks to the Reese apartment. It is really just four walls and one room that has 2 beds a table and chairs and a heating pad in it. Kilee sets the books on the table, then opens Kyle's homework planner. Derek has rules that Kyle can't do anything until his school work is done. Since she had nothing better to do Kilee completes all of Kyle's assignments for him. She is not in school because she has read all the materials and tested out of the highest level they have a teacher for. Feeling a little tired Kilee curls up on Kyle's bed and closes her eyes. The next thing she knows is that she is being shaken roughly awake. Derek is standing over her. When he sees that she is awake he says "Go to dinner" and walks out of the room. Kilee stretches and then goes down to the mess hall to meet Kyle. He is waiting for her by the doors. They move together into line and get their supper. They find a table together in the corner and eat not looking at anyone else in the room. Only talking to each other, because of this they didn't see the group of older boys sit at the nearest table. The four boys start throwing food and things at them. Kyle jumps up ready to fight but a hand grabs his shoulder and stops him. Derek glares at the boys and they soon stop. Derek then sits with Kyle and they continue to eat in silence. Kilee occasionally stealing looks at Derek.
