Veran- Fan Fiction

Okay, so for those who've been reading my fan fics, you'll know that I'm reaching the end zone for my current fic (Reversion). With only three chapters left for the second part of a quadrilogy, I've been floating a few ideas for the third installment, one of which includes a new type of cyborg (General Mazaki will know what I'm talking about).

I have a pretty solid idea in my head but I really need some advice in regards to the specifics, so any help will be more than welcome, cos' this thing is kicking my ass at the moment.

So here's my new cyborg concept:

The cyborg will be 50% human (organic) and 50% machine. The image I have in my head is one of a human with a machine skeleton, so basically a skeleton of the exact same design as ours, only mechanical. This idea was initially conceived during my very early designs for Jason's character and a rough image of the skeleton can be found here:

Basically, the cyborg will be sort of like Wolverine (metal skeleton), though the skeleton itself will be powered by mechanics and the cyborg's heart will be replaced with a miniature plasma reactor. It will have entirely mechanical eyes and it will retain its human brain inside the endo-skull.

The problem I have is figuring out how all of this can be plausible and how it could work (metal bonding with muscles and flesh etc). I know the whole point of fan fiction is to detach from reality, but some realism is necessary, I think. I really want to get this idea going, so can anyone offer any help?
