Code of Conduct Terms and Conditions
These are the terms and conditions that every member using the interactive areas of the TSCC wiki site agrees to adhere to. This includes chat rooms, threads, posts, profile pages, new pages, existing pages, and other interactive areas such as multimedia (photos and videos) and contests. Any abuse of the Code of Conduct (CoC) may result in progressive warnings leading to a ban.
Community Moderation
All members of the TSCC wiki are encouraged to participate in wiki community moderation. This means that each member is given the power to tell us (Admins and Mods) what you think is inappropriate wiki behaviour by other registered members. Please read the COC so that you are familiar with its content. Members can appeal deleted threads, posts, and memberships by contacting one or more Moderators.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Please direct any questions or comments to one of our moderators.
Consequences
Failure to comply with the TSCC wiki CoC could result in:
- Temporary or Permanent ban from the TSCC wiki
- Legal action in extreme cases (includes but is not limited to hate postings, child porn, luring, stalking, etc.)
CoC Overview & Introduction
Remember that the words you enter in a burst of passion or indignant anger will be there for you and everyone else to see, sometimes long after those intense feelings have passed. That's not meant to discourage spontaneity, but just a friendly reminder of the long-term existence and effects of what you post.
You may, from time to time, find yourself in disagreement with someone else's opinion. At times like these, please keep in mind it's safer and more polite to take issue with the comments rather than the person.
Questions regarding TSCC wiki policies or issues should be handled via PM to one or more Admins or Mods, and not posted in the forum. Using one or more threads to air issues is a violation of the CoC.
The TSCC wiki does not allow profanity including swear-words, racial slurs, derogatory remarks, or other forms of offensive language.
Threatening other users in any way is strictly forbidden.
Any sexual remarks, comments, or discussions will result in the post being deleted and a warning sent to the member.
Additionally, posting links to any external sites that violate the spirit of the wiki and/or the CoC, or could harm other members in any way, will result in the post/link being deleted and a warning sent to the originating member.
TSCC CODE OF CONDUCT
(1) Membership
- Respect Your Peers. Although you may not share a member's enthusiasm for a particular character, actor, contestant, judge, aspect of the show, etc., please respect their opinion. We encourage you to discuss opinions as long as they stay respectful. This forum was created to discuss a wide range of topics, and attempts to drive off a member because they have a differing opinion will not be tolerated. If you post with respect, you will be respected. If not, your stay here will be short. We encourage you to post your opinion, but you aren't permitted to insult, harass, ridicule or intimidate other members for expressing theirs. Profanity (even if it is masked) and name-calling is also forbidden. Harassment includes, but is not limited to, disparaging or hateful comments based on gender, age, appearance, race, sexual orientation, ethnic background, locality, or religion. The question the Admins and Moderators ask when deciding whether to delete a post or thread is: "Is it mean-spirited or malicious?" If the answer is "Yes," it will be deleted. If a member establishes a pattern of mean-spirited posts, their membership may be canceled (banned) after repeated warnings. Further consideration: threads lead strange lives. Many begin well but deteriorate into flaming, bashing, and general negativity. If a thread becomes dominated by this type of post, the entire thread will be deleted.
- Do not use offensive language. Inappropriate, crude, or abusive language is not only unacceptable, it’s a lousy way to convince anyone of your point. Any posts that contain such language, or proxy words, will be deleted. Repeated offensive language will result in your membership being suspended or canceled.
- No Flaming. There are no stupid questions — Everyone’s input is welcomed and honored. “Flaming” others or demeaning their participation may build your self-esteem, but it won’t help build community spirit. Repeated flaming will result in your membership being suspended or canceled.
- Report inappropriate Content/Behavior. If you see an offensive or abusive post (or one that violates the forum policies in some way), please report inappropriate content or behavior to the Moderators, and refrain from electronic arguments with the perpetrator. Content dealing with the following areas will be removed without notice: sex, drugs, weapons unrelated to the T-franchise, baiting or threatening members, use of foul language, and gay bashing.
- Do Not Post In Uppercase. In Internet terms, posting in all uppercase constitutes yelling. Please respect your peers and do not post in uppercase.
- Not A Dating Service. This is not Match.com or eHarmony.com.TSCC fans come here to chat with other TSCC fans about the show. They do not come here to be hit on.
- Respect The Cast of TSCC. Do not post any revealing or embarrassing photographs that are clearly an invasion of an actor's privacy. The cast have a right to respect and privacy, just as each of us does. Berating or ridiculing a cast member, whether in character or not, will not be tolerated. Photo's or content deemed inappropriate will be removed. Threads, posts or photos that violate this rule will be deleted without notice.
- No Self-promotion or Marketing. This is a no-no. The TSCC wiki exists to support an organic and communal body of information. Shameless self-promotion or hawking of wares is strictly forbidden. Any infraction will result in your membership being canceled.
- No Spamming or Advertising. This site is a community for TSCC fans to talk about the show. Posting of advertisements and/or spamming is strictly forbidden. Any infraction will result in your membership being canceled.
- Do Not Plagiarize Material. Do not publish content that is trademarked or copyrighted. If you are on another site, please contact the author or the webmaster to obtain their permission before posting here. Make sure to reference the author in your post. The other alternative is to include a link in your post to the other web site.
- Note the following specific violations:
- Member names that are considered offensive.
- Any communication that is intended to harass, belittle, humiliate, threaten or cause embarrassment to a fellow member.
- Name calling, personal insults of any kind including insults such as ""member name" sucks", and so on.
- Material that contains vulgar, obscene or indecent language or images.
- Masking foul language in any way (i.e. via proxy names or other work-arounds), shape, or form is not a way around this.
- Sexual posts with obvious or hidden sexual content or innuendos.
- Cutting and pasting another posters message that contains a violation, is a violation on your part as well.
- Posts that provide or seek professional advise such as legal, financial, medical, etc.
- Any communication that contains spam (multiple copies in one area or the same communication in multiple areas).
- Posts and headlines that are all in caps (no need to yell) will be deleted.
- Continually bumping posts just to have them remain at the top of the thread list.
- Material that defames, abuses, or threatens others. Threats of any types will result in immediate banning. No warning; no second chances.
- Posting statements that are bigoted, hateful or racially offensive.
- Posting or uploading content that advocates illegal activity or discusses illegal activities with the intent to commit them. Any material involving gambling or betting.
- Unauthorized copyrighted material. Cutting and pasting stories from other sites is not permitted. It is an illegal act and all messages with copyright violations are deleted upon discovery and users can be banned immediately. Also, cutting and pasting even small portions of stories, articles or content from other sites is not permitted. You must give credit where credit is due, which may include a link to the originating web site.
- Advertising or any form of commercial or personal solicitation. This includes any attempts to buy, sell, distribute, assist with purchase or sale or trade materials.
- Use the wiki to promote personal websites or soliciting support, sales or any involvement from members of the TSCC wiki is prohibited.
- Posting personal email addresses is not permitted.
- Personal battles with other members that you have an issue with are not permitted and all such posts will be deleted including risk of being banned. Calling out others for battle is also a violation. Using the wiki for purposes other than talking about the Terminator franchise and related topics such as T-weapons, cast, characters, creators, directors, fan T-fictions, related genres, themes, movies, shows, and so on.
- Material that impedes or otherwise prohibits communication; disrupts the discussion including, without limitation, using member names in forums that are offensive to the topic, the wiki, the genre and/or its fan base, and repeatedly posting off-topic messages in a topical message board. Any behavior or posting that is disruptive to the flow of the thread/forum.
- Posting of political messages.
- Posting of religious messages.
- Linking to questionable sites (includes but is not limited to porn, religious, and political web sites.)
(2) Off-topic (OT) Threads
OT threads will be tolerated within reason. OT threads concerning sex, drugs, or weapons (unrelated to the T-franchise) are not allowed. For some members, off-topic threads can be distracting. For others, off-topic threads are a way to come together as a community. Given various members views on OT threads, it does not seem appropriate for this wiki to implement specific rules for OT threads. However, in order to make this wiki a place where all members can feel comfortable, we ask that you follow a simple practice of starting new OT threads using the Water Cooler forum.
- OT threads appearing within the Water Cooler forum will be required to meet the COC rules and guidelines.
- Failure to place your OT thread within the Water Cooler forum will be cause for deletion without notice.
(3) Political/Religious Discussions Political and religious discussions are frowned upon by this wiki. These types of discussions come with a lot of emotions and strong opinions, and never end well. However, we ask you to follow the same process as for OT threads. Start political or religious threads using the Water Cooler forum. These threads will be deleted without notice if they become inflammatory.
- POL and REL threads appearing within the Water Cooler forum will be required to meet the COC rules and guidelines.
- Failure to place your POL or REL thread within the Water Cooler forum will be cause for deletion without notice.

Questions. At any time you have a question, wish to share an idea, need to lock or unlock pages, or need to report inappropriate behavior (flaming, foul language, spamming, etc.), feel free to send a private message to any of the moderators. All of your PMs (Private Messages) are confidential and follow-ups are handled with discretion.
(8) Warning! Please Do Not Feed The Trolls
Someone who purposely joins an online community to cause problems and to irritate other users is often referred to as a "troll". As suggested by the popular sign at left, the easiest way to get rid of a troll is to not feed him, i.e. do not encourage a trouble maker by responding. It is your heated response that fuels a troll- they want you to notice them. They want you to be irritated.
Detailed information on Trolls, their habits, and their MO can be found here.
Please report inappropriate behavior to a site moderator.
