| | This is the summer for big sci-fi blockbusters, including the hotly anticipated Terminator Salvation and the slightly-spoiled Wolverine movie. While we wait with baited breath to see how these films battle it out at the box office, we can't help but wonder... Who would win if they battled it out in real life - the Terminator or Wolverine? Since we may never see the actual Terminator vs. Wolverine fight (both heroes are notoriously diva-ish), we have no choice but to use logic to determine the winner of this battle. Read on to see who would win! |
| Attack | |||
|
| ||
| While the Terminator is, according to film maker James Cameron, "like death rendered in steel," Wolverine has the advantage of built-in weaponry, which the T line of robots didn't acquire until several years later. Although the Terminator is more systematic and likely to be equally as adept in hand-to-hand as Wolverine, not having to fumble about for your weapon is always a plus in our books. And the winner is... WOLVERINE | |||
| Defense | |||
|
| ||
| Wolverine's defenses are remarkably well-suited to pretty much any kind of damage that can be inflicted to him, while the Terminator takes virtually no damage from 20th century weaponry. That being said, both the Terminator and Wolverine are built to withstand completely different types of attack, so we feel safe saying that, until we see it all play out, there is no definitive winner in this category. And the winner is... UNDETERMINABLE | |||
| Healing | |||
|
| ||
| The Terminator may be able to heal its organic covering at an accelerated rate compared to human flesh, but Wolverine can heal his entire body at a rate that doesn't even compare to human healing. The winner is only too obvious. And the winner is... WOLVERINE | |||
| Battle History | |||
|
| ||
| The Terminator was trained to be a ruthless killing machine unhindered by emotions. Granted, it ends up acquiring emotion-like responses to many situations due to its powerful learning ability, but it remains systematic in its combat nonetheless. In the end, the Terminator has a more impressive battle history considering that Wolverine's battle history mostly involves working with the other X-Men or simply surviving otherwise fatal circumstances. And the winner is... TERMINATOR | |||
| Weaknesses | |||
|
| ||
| Though Wolverine has super-human capabilities, he essentially has the same weaknesses as a human - he fatigues, he bleeds, he feels pain. This may not slow him down much at first, but we're willing to place bets on who's going to have to take a potty break first. Just saying. And the winner is... TERMINATOR | |||
| Conclusion | |||
|
| ||
| On an otherwise even playing field, the ultimate tie-breaker has to do with a very special x-factor unique to the Terminator that allows him to take advantage of Wolverine's past: the Terminator can travel back in time, and since Wolverine wasn't always as strong as he is today, the Terminator could take fatal advantage of this. Plus, if we've learned anything from the Terminator movie franchise, it's that sending robots/people back in time to interfere with the past always works out exactly the way you planned. And the overall winner is... TERMINATOR | |||

seriously? I have to agree, since wolverine's real name was lost long ago, and he's been using alias' all over the world for over 100 years, it would be just about impossible to time-kill him, and in any combat situation, Adamantium wins over terminator steel. T's can be damaged, then can be broken, melted, and cut through. Wolvie's claws are unbreakable, and permanently sharp; the only terminator that could even stand up to him would be the T-1000. no, not the T-x, as it's internals are still a solid framework, and Wolvie would tear through it like wet tissue! keep in mind that Wolvie also has over 100 years combat experience too, and (going to the comics for a moment) he's battled aliens, robots, sentinels, undead, etc.

Wolverines claws would rip T-whatever to shreds. He's fought lots of robots and androids.
If you want to use time travel, you need to know when and where to go. There are no records and is no documentation. Does anyone think Stryker left anythying resembling a paper trail? Before that wolverine was using different names, etc.. Xavier couldn't find the records. They certainly aren't things that would be extant in a post-apocalyptic database. Terminator is cool but there's no contest - it's wolverine's fight all the way. |

the battle outcome simply isn't unbiased. you pit wolverine against a T-800 (i'm just assuming there). i woul put the winner as wolverine simply because that even though both have healing abilities, once structural damage is done to a terminator, there isn't any way for it to repair itself mid-battle. also, with the time travel, you would have to first see how wolverine faired against a terminator when each is at it's peak power. only when it fails does SkyNet even choose to time travel it's minions to exploit weaknesses.
