Feb 12 2008, 3:34 PM EST
Hey, does anybody know how many terminator models there have been throughout the movies and the TV series? Even if you don't know exactly how many, does anybody have an estimate--just to get a feel for order of magnitude here? Thanks! 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

The problem here is the difference between models and series. The model is what the infiltraor units 'look' like, I.E Arnold Schwarzenegger, Franco Columbu. In this vein, we have seen about eight (Model 101, Columbu, T-1000, T-X, Cromatie, Cameron, two in the future war - one grabbed Derek, and the other was damaged and in the transport with Derek and his squad).Series is basically the units make, generally the endoskeleton. So we have seen T-800s, T-850s, T-888, T-1000, T-X, Cameron (?), giving us a total of six. It's also debatable whether the '850 and '888 count as different series to the '800, or just sub-series. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

T-1T-70 T-600 T-800 T-850 T-888 T-1000 T-X That is 8. Each was an advancement over the prior model. There are also Terminators in the new T4 movie, however models and series numbers are unknown at this point: Harvesters Hunter Killers (HK) Aerostats Hydrobots 2 out of 2 found this valuable. The T-70 was designed by James Cameron for the T2 3-D: Battle Across Time attraction at Universal Studio's in Florida. This makes the T-70 "canon" even though it did not appear in any movies or TSCC. Do you find this valuable? |

"T-1Oh yeah, I missed the T-600. Plus, the T-900 from T3, which brings the total further to nine. Harvesters, H/Ks, Aerostats and Hydrobots don't seem to be terminators. Do you find this valuable? |

Plus, the original question asked for terminators in the films and series, which is why I avoided the T-70.

"T-1The complete list is: T-1: the mini tank as seen in T3. T-70: created by the military prior to Judgment Day. T-400: very basic hunt and kill machine. T-500: highly successful hunt and kill machine. T-600: rubber skin infiltrator model. T-700: a thinner bodied version of the T-600. T-800: the first flesh-covered infiltrator. T-850: tougher version of the T-800. T-888: highly advanced infiltrator model. T-900: highly resistant model designed for Terminator vs Terminator combat. T-950: thinner bodied version, progenitor of the T-X series. T-1000: advanced mimetic poly alloy prototype. T-1000000: another poly alloy prototype, created to defend Skynet's core. T-X: the ultimate Terminator, created by combining the T-950 designs with the T-1000. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

I read a long while ago that the 800 referred to the chassis model number while the 101 was in reference to it's physical appearance. So all Terminators that look like Arnold would be model800/850, series 101. Therefore it can refer to itself as T- 800 or T-101 because both would be correct. Do you find this valuable? |

Yes, there are basicly 9 humaniod machines, first of all the T-800 & T-850 are one in the same that's why they call these cyborg's T-800/850 model 101 and dont forget the T-400 & T-500 they are also terminator but only for infratry duty and they might appear on T4 or shara conner chronicles. Oh! yeah there was an acual T-900 endoskeleton that have been seen on the old T3:rise of the machines website before is kinda sad that they did'nt show it. well that answer all of your questions. 1 out of 1 found this valuable.
