I think they need more action. I do like the character interaction and drama, but I'd really like to see more gunplay, char chases, explosions, exposed endoskeletons etc.

I do have to admit that the highschool scenes are probably my favorite...especially any scene where Cameron shows her social ineptness. hilarity.

This show is really good when it comes to exposing how easily dangerous schools can be. Especially when Cromartie goes looking for John in various schools very funny and scary at the same time. Lot of it almost reminds me of Virginia Tech. I wonder how Fox gets away with it?

Anybody else have opinions with regard to the Action, Suspence, Drama, Humor or Thiller?

Oh yeah!
Imagine the Contraversy the show will create? People will be talking like, "You heard about that show Terminator?, They got some serious crud on their hands. Oh, yeah I heard they made an episode inspired by Virginia Tech and Cameron stopped them."

Yep, Cameron will become every school students hero.
People will definately start watching the show then. Because that is Action/suspence/thriller written all over it.

Any other Opinions?

actually, to go with teh theme of the show, Cameron would probably catch wind of the shooting in advance, and find a way to be sure she and John don't go to school that day in order to both protect john from the shooter, and also keep him out of the media should he step up as a hero. This would create more strife between John and Cameron, much like her preventing him from saving the jumper did...however the whole idea would end up being kind of redundant.

No I'm sure they will go after the shooter. Because the whole incident will bring attention of the media which will make Cromartie more observant of the school. This would be because usally in the aftermath of such an incident the media likes to interview students about it by approcing them the next day of school. All the media would have to do is see John Connor and ask him questions and bam he's all over television avalable for Cromartie to hunt him down.
So I would have to say that Cameron and John Would have to stop the shooter before he starts to do anything.

And by the way were getting off topic here maybe I should start a discussion regarding the school in another thread.

The Connors could make a ton of money making and selling meth. Then Sarah would not have to go to work each day, and she could concentrate on stopping Skynet. 0  out of 8 found this valuable. Do you?

A show like this needs a good balance of action, drama and suspense, to keep everyone interested.

However, I have always loved suspense. It's those scenes that have you on the edge of your seat, make you shake with excitment, that are the defining moments of a show. Take 24 for example, the suspense is what keeps the viewers coming back.

Now, I still believe we need Drama and Action, they are both necessary. But I sure hope they do not take the Drama to far. When you cross that line from suspenseful drama to soap opera, the show is done for.

"I agree. I want more SFX, CGI and make-up effects!

Any other opinions with regard to the Genre style?"
Well, I'd vote for a little more suspense--that thriller aspect of the movies. The exhaustion and tension of being on the run.

But I have to reach kind of deep for even that--this show has a rare combination of treasured franchise, action, character, and drama, with a touch of thriller and of humor and pretty good acting that's hard to complain about, well if you're being fair anyway.

I'd like maybe just a little more action, but mainly I want grittier action. I always want my action to be more about how truely horrorible and horrorifying it is to be in battle or subjected to any sort of violence really. I'm talking more "saving private ryan" than "halloween" though the Terminator franchise has equal right to a little of either.

I've got to give this show props--I'm great at criticizing and I really had to dig for this stuff.

Clearly the consensus of this thread is "Don't get Lost: give us occasional answers." I wholeheartedly agree. Honestly I only watch two or three shows on-line so I never have to pick between shows, but if I had to make a choice in a head to head between SCC and Lost I'd watch SCC. Not that it has that kind of strength yet, but it could.

Give Lost a little cred--its not a bad example of that gritty action I'm talking about, for typical T.V. anyway. Amp the harsh reality up about 3X and that'd would be great.

Well said.

I also like the way each episode ties into the next...without it being too "soap opera like" It makes you wanna watch next weeks ep to find out what happened. It's like every ep is a Part 1/Part 2. I like that.

I agree. You can miss an episode and still be in the loop as it were. Unlike Lost, "24"(no offence), Alias and other shows.
But yes, I like the fact that somthing big is revealed every episode so as to keep you satisfied. Plus it also seems like every episode has a different sub-plot. In other words I could miss an episode and the main plot won't be so different that I would be left going. HUH?
The characters seem to acomplish the sub-plot of every story/episode. An example would be that they distroyed the Coltan metal in a signal episode. Leaving the Audeance happy but, they left the mistery about the extra piece that Cameron kept. Not a big question but enough to make you wonder what happens next. Plus they don't explain why she kept it yet so in other words If I miss a few episodes I won't be out of the loop as it were when it comes to them answering that question.

I don't know if I fully explained this correctly but I tried.

Any other opinion with regard to the genre.

I give Lost lots of cred, that's why I watch the damn thing. It's the whole jerking the audience around thing that makes me want to not watch it. In fact I haven't seen last week's episode and it's just chillin in the DVR, I have no desire to watch it because I just know I'll be more confused.

Yes confused...huh where am I? Lost?

I get what you mean that the Audience gets jerked around. Because man I'm dizzy. I know a lot of people like that but, I have a hard time staying what is it? Involed, Concerned, ah I don't know I'm LOST.

It's also nice that they do a brief synopsis of the previous eps at the beginning. It kinda gets you up to date on what has happened so far. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Yeah they do a good Job at that. But, I have to say that the recaps are not the hard to take in.

While on "24"(no offence to "24" I love the show I wanted to see this season), Lost and Alias their recaps can be awefully confuseing.
Especially if you miss more than one episode of the shows.

Me personnaly I missed the first three episodes of Terminator:SCC and the recap got me involed really easily. I was able to see some of the older episodes online and when they reruned a few episodes recently. I noticed still that I didn't miss that much.
