I would like to see a relationship between Cameron and John used as a Plot Device to put wedge inbetween the family. Sort of like Cameron and John Vs. Sarah and Derek 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Drama is the key element in sci-fi. It is the backbone. At this very moment I am also preparing an "open letter" to the Fox Administration and in that I use the term "sci-fi dramas" referring to the shows they have canceled in the past.

In reality "Sci-fi" inherently carries all there genres of action, drama and suspence. I would like the drama part more emphasized. T:SCC is succesfull to that end, however, more could be seen. After all, action costs much more than literature and stills.

But what is drama? How does it relate to T: SCC?

The park & bench scene of the uncle and nephew watching the young Reeses IS drama.

Cameron with her enormous power not allowing the young Connor to help the suicidal girl IS drama.

Cromartie staring at Ellys with the gun pointed to his chest; Ellys closing his eyes with the acceptance of his "fate"; Cromartie leaving Ellys unharmed... THAT IS INTENSE DRAMA.

"It's OK John" says Cameron to the hesitant John who is about to literally take her life. THIS IS DRAMA.

"What have you learned?" asks Sarah. Cameron replies with "Dance is the hidden language of the soul". THIS IS DRAMA.
Anyone else?

All of those scenes were truely good parts of the show, and some were even tearjerkers.

I agree with you, drama is an essential element to sci fi and this show. I hope they continue to write it with that kind of intensity.

I think you are refering to Drama/Thriller when it comes to INTENSE DRAMA.

"I don't believe fans are advisors to the writers .There are fans because of the writers. if the writers sucked at their job, there wouldn't be as many fans. I think what writers do and I think it's very cool is when they put a little something in the show, just a little mention about this or that, or a joke or something and it's a little nod off to the fans. A little inside joke only hardcore fans would understand.

I like what the writers have done so far and I'm sure they have ideas that this board hasn't even thought of yet and I'm looking forward to seeing what it is. We're all here because we like (for the most part) what they've done and we are not their advisors."
I agree with that. Stephen King puts little mentions of other books whenever he writes one. That way true fans get an even bigger kick out of it. Nice idea.

Yes I do hope they consider some of our ideas to what we want to see next season. I want a action season primere then go to drama/thriller for the next few episodes. Then kick but again in another action episode. That would be a good patern for the series.

Wow nicely put. I feel sappy admitting it, but the park bench scene made me choke up a bit. "Everytime I look at you I see him." I think the series has a pretty good balance. They have lots of elements, and they don't seem to have let any one in particular overwhelm the others. I'd like a little more occasional action, but that may just be because I'm jonesing hard over the show now that first season is over. I don't think I've seen any major scene/segment much less an episode of this show that made me feel like, "ugh that was crap I could have done without that." I love the suspense, I love the character interation, I love the goofy things Cameron does/says without knowing any better ( walking around the house in her underwear, diamonds are a girl's best friend, do I have a birthday, etc) All I really want is for this show to continue and have a decent length season from now on.

PS re the shows they canceled in the past is Space Above and Beyond one of the ones you were thinking of?

thank you for the compliment. I haven't had the chance to see S:AAB, gee I came to the US in 97! Just missed it I am afraid. But definitely will take a look at it.
I was referring to Dark Angel & Firefly.

"I definately want to see all three genres.

I love the action and I want more!
I personally thought that this series wouldn't be able to deliver the drama or the suspence.

But I was terriblely wrong?
I can't get enough!

What are your opinions with regard to this?
What do you want to see more of?
What scenes remain close to you this season with regard to that?
Any Ideas for Next season?"
More of all three is crucial to raise the bar for another season!

I'm working on some ideas

For now I think John really needs to Grow a Pair! I want to see him Blasting a triple eight with a shotgun sending it through a window or something. Our "great leader of the Resistance" Hasn't even really done any battle per say!

Nice to know.
I've noticed many people agree with there be all three genres evenly used thoughout the 2nd season.

Anybody else who would like to add comments? With regard to the genres?

Fuck Action.

Fuck the Drama.

Fuck the Suspense.

Just show me 60 minutes of John-on-Cameron nookie action and I'll be happy."

Nah just joking a bit more romance will be SIK (good) but that might be a bit too much lol.

I reckon romance is 1, so is um... drama and maybe a bit of action lol im not a gun nut but seeing a terminator trying to attack our gang and get Bitch Slapped by the team and end up getting totally OBLITERATED...(ok maybe a bit xD)

I love what they're doing with the show. GREAT JOB JOSH!!! (and everyone else who works with him...)
how ever...i think the writers NEED to elaborate on the character they've already shown us. Break it down more..
Just when we started to get to know the characters a little bit, the show ended! Season two should be about developing the characters that really caught the viewers attention. Relationships that started and just left us in the air....things like that. Also, try not to confuse us as much...dont make it so mysterious at times...i got so lost watching some of the eppies i had to come here to figure half the things out. Dont leave out details..we need them!! Slow down and develop the characters please!!!

I think as a fan of the TSCC we need to see more episodes as there was only 9 episodes in season 1 because of the writers strike but i think we will get to see a lot more of the story in season 2 Do you find this valuable?
