80. RE: What do you think happened in the basement below?
Apr 11 2008, 3:23 PM EDT
"This thread keeps coming back, everyone is mesmerized by what happened down there. We do not know. The Cameron model that said I know you to Derek May be the model in basement. All I am saying is once John was set up to build a Cameron model it is easy to build the third and the forth ect, ect,. John would not go to all that trouble to build just one. As the rule is ,if a limted production is all then sand cast the parts and if a production run of many then forge the parts. Lets face it a small army of Cameron models is a good thing and worth the hassel of tooling up a production line. Do you find this valuable? |

"OK, it's fun to speculate, but could the "Cameron down there" theorists clarify one point? By "Cameron" do they mean the same individual that's with Sarah and John now, or are they suggesting that "Basement Cameron" is just one of the many Cameron models (whatever that # is) - that is, NOT the time-jumping Cameron."Just my cup of coffee, it's the same Cameron that's with John and Sarah because of the pancake scene. Derek, "You might have fooled them but not me." Cameron, "I know you too." The looks they give each other, far more there than them simply knowing each other from Future John's camp. (I also don't think the memory wipe completely worked.) Do you find this valuable? |

The basement IMHO those were NOT Skynet terminators they were Big John’s terminators he needed to see who he could trust for these go back to the past missions and nothing is so motivating as REVENGE, I.e. (Those Evil machines Tortured me for days I want them dead send me Big John) it’s a war all is fair in war and if torturing a few people saves a few thousand lives then its worth the price. "Agreed. I stated the same thing in another thread awhile back. John was testing to see who he could trust to send back. Derek was the choice. In the basement is where he first met Cameron. Do you find this valuable? |

I'm sorry but I'm just can't agree on the theory that John is testing who is loyal enough to send back. The John we see now trusts people instinctively without the use of torture games/tests. He trusted Charley all along. He trusts Derek to a point. John isn't the kind of person who gains loyalty through cruelty and fear. Leaders like that are the ones who would resort to such tactics and I just can't see it in John.

To those who think that those are John's terminators I ask: Then what's with the plane that flies over every now and then? And the last time you see the plane passing over it's hauling an old aircraft engine away. The same looking engine that all those nice metal terminators were dragging through the junk yard. Does John have a multitude of all kinds of terminators at his command now? If not, then those were skynet's ship and terms and they would have "seen" the humans inside the building and blown them to pieces. Just my assessment of the situation.

Everyone keeps saying those are jet engines but they look just like the things that were standing up around the time displacement machine when Derek first got a peek at it - at least they do in the screencaps. As for John not being a person who would result to cruelty --war changes people. Even without war people change. Every decision he makes could mean the end of the human race -- he'll do whatever it takes to get the job done. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"why else"We don't know if it was specificly for Cameron Models. Could be a new experiment by skynet. Like a better Terminator with regenerating skin like wolverine from X-men. I'm just say you can't know for sure. That's all. Do you find this valuable? |

"Yes because sometimes I wondered if Derek was a terminator. Because he just did things that were wierd somtimes. Like accusing Cameron might be part of his mission to stop John Connor. Derek might not even know this because the information might be subliminaly delivered to his brain in this microchip. They may have put it in his arm by extracting some of his blood and the chip will have got caught in his brain area. They most likely made the chip so that it won't constrict blood flow by making it like a hollow tube. Once near his brain it might logged itself their to deliver to the brain mission objectives and goals subliminally. That why Cameron may have shown John the Chip of Vick because he is a advanced infiltrator. But, Derek might be a new bread of infiltrator. A human one, with human emotions and actual life. Thus being more convinceing than even Vick could. Scarry Huh?Because in a earlyer thread I said the above speculation. Do you find this valuable? |

As someone already pointed out, Terminators terminate humans in the future except those running the furnaces. Skynet Terminators don't torture. Torture requires understanding human nature which Skynet's machines seem to disregard. Skynet is trying to make humans extinct, not torture them for info.

"turbo fan engines is what were the terminator were hauling some where. Big,big need of thrust--- Why. No john plays a clean game ."My assumption was, since those engines would be utterly obsolete by future standards, was that the terminators were on a scrap metal detail. That is, the engines would be torn down to retrieve the usuable titanium and other exotic alloys in them. To produce more of the "coltan" metal or whatever. Do you find this valuable? |
