Getting a peek into the charactor's philosophical preferences and education/intellect is interesting. I enjoy how Ellison weaves in the story the biblical apocolypes and doing battle with the cyborgs. The side plot gives the hint that he knows there is metaphyiscal/physical, supernatural/human war developing and the apocolypes gives him an insight to that knowledge. It is clear the charactor also draws comfort, strength, and guidence from his spiritual relationship. I suspect if we could see Ellisons' educational background we would find he has theology minor with his law degree (most all FBI special agents have law degrees) with a good deal of his free time spent furthering the cause of his church/religion. Anyway, it make the charactor interesting where as the Connors' and the uncle are warriors thru and thru. Hopefully John's character will develop into a person who appreciates history and great leaders who make that history. 4  out of 4 found this valuable. Do you?

Ellison doesn't necessarily have to have a theology minor with his law degree. He could just be a very religous man. But religon is sure as hell not gonna help someone, with it comes to terminators and Judgement Day. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

The symbolism is already in the show. When Dr. Silberman tries to kill Ellison by drugging him and tourching his cabin a guardian angle appears in the nick of time to give Ellison assistance to extricate hisself from the burning building. Angles are described as stronger and more powerful than man. Humans are lower than angles, even Christ is described in the bible as lower than angles in his human condition. So John, Sarah, and Cameron fit neatly into that mold. Moreover, Ellison is already comparing cromartie with a demon in his profiling of the purpatrator. Thus, if Cromartie is a demon, Skynet (or maybe the Turk) is the Prince of Darkness. In the bible a prediction is made that Jesus Christ is to return to the planet and will make war with Satan and those who follow him. But before God's kingdom is established the world must go through a time of great tribulation (Matt 24:21).

Yeah there are definitely religious undertones. But do me a favor? Check your spelling and stop spelling "angels" as "angles." Every single one you typed like that.

The Terminators are the demons and Skynet is the Prince of Darkness... Sarah is an angel and when it comes time to fight JC will take charge and make war with Sarah. Even the mark of the beast is like the tattoos the captured fighters receive. On the right hand no less.
