Just the basic concept of the show is addictive. Knowing about doomsday and trying to prevent it is a great storyline in and among itself. Add to that killer machines from the future and an ever changing timeline, and you've got an unbeatable show. Certainly, a TV series can have a much bigger storyline than a movie, which also helps. All T:CCC needs is more future flashbacks.

Basic story of survival. Adrenaline rush. Beautiful women. Explosions. On a deeper level, it shows people using their wits to battle powerful forces. Like any great story, there are surprises. The writers are loading in a lot of complexity, which makes it riveting. I see similarities to the modern terrorism problem, a group of people who kill because its "what they do", without reason, and with fanaticism. Do you find this valuable? |

Like others, for me it's the continuation of T2 and the storyline. But essentially, I'm addicted to technology and its development... who knows, I might be programming for SkyNet right now in my day job as I am a programmer. Seriously tho... maybe it's the whole good vs. evil thing, but for the most part, I find it fascinating because it's a subject about a concept that we has humans *actually create* that comes back to haunt us and literally want to wipe us out... there's something attractive in that.

Summer GlauIt's sci-fi gone mainstream. You can watch it without feeling like a social outcast. Cameron Phillips If you listen carefully, it asks the viewer questions that most shows don't bother with anymore such as: What does it mean to be human. Makes me forget the third Terminator movie. Sexy, petite, co-ed terminators It's just different 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

First of all T:SCC did what I was trying to do, forget that T3 ever existed. Loved the first two and was so glad to see Sarah back, alive and well in T:SCC.T:SCC has action, drama, conflict, genuine emotion, twists and turns, love and hate, sex and violence, and the obligatory epic battle between good and evil, though examines more shades of grey than usual. Everything you could ever want from a TV show and more. Characters you can relate to, ordinary people thrown into an extraordinary situation, one that they not only have to battle to change, but one that also changes them and leaves them damaged. But more than this T:SCC asks the big questions. What does it mean to be human? (what does it take for a machine to become human, when does a human lose their humanity?) It raises the question of faith; it pushes the boundaries of what we consider right and wrong. More importantly it doesn’t try to answer the questions, just shows both sides of the coin, leaves it to the viewer to decide the morality of lack of. T:SCC doesn't patronize it's fans, the writers don't feel the need to spell out the message, they just let all the questions they raise speak for themselves, which is why we keep coming back every week. We find out a little more, not just about the characters but about ourselves. How many of us thought that Sarah should have shot the kid in the bowling alley, or that Derek and Jesse should have killed the young Fisher? Would we have in their place? Would it be right? Wow that was pretty philosophical for a Tuesday. But I think my point is that to say, that to say that T:SCC is the story of a dysfunctional family and their hot Summer Glau robot is selling T:SCC short. Actually it is something much deeper than that. Perhaps I will go so far as to say that it is the SciFi anaylsis of the human condition, while still being packed with all the things that make an action movie great. Do you find this valuable? |
