Possible Wizard of Oz link.....
Aug 21 2008, 9:58 PM EDT I was re-watching the "Dungeons and Dragons" episode. (I just picked up the series during rerun week) and I noticed the following picture. http://terminatorwiki.fox.com/photo/1285569/Lion+Logo I remembered stumbling upon the page about Oz connections to Terminator:SCC. I think maybe this might be another, weak maybe, connection. The logo features a Lion with the head of a Terminator in its mouth. As mentioned John can be seen as the Lion in Oz, needs to find courage. Therefore the logo may be suggesting John found of courage and his fight against the machines. That may not be enough to convince many, including myself, that there is an Oz link but then I got thinking. Why did they use a Lion? If you want a large cat why not go with the standard tiger? Or another animal? A smashed calculator? It may just be wishful thinking and over analysis of a simple logo and quiet possible there is no link to Oz. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Aug 22 2008, 1:04 AM EDT Zack Stentz, aka "The Turk", staff writer for TSCC who came up with the "Hang in there baby" poster in the safe house, posted this on TerminatorFiles: "Once we had the poster in the first episode, we just kind of liked the idea that the phrase from the famous poster actually had emotional meaning to these guys from the future." Full post here: http://www.terminatorfiles.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=10248&highlight=#10248 "The Turk" doesn't say as much, but it could be a reference to Oz... Do you find this valuable? |

Great observation. IvyMike, I had always just thought that someone on the writing staff had a cat fetish. First there was the "Hang in There Baby" kitten poster in the safe house, and the "Hang in There Baby" lion painting in the tunnel. And when Cameron asks the ballet instructor what dance another student is doing, it is something with "cat" in it (forget what exactly). Then someone on the writer's blog mentions that an actual live tiger will be featured in a season 2 episode. Maybe there's something up with that... 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

Sep 5 2008, 3:54 PM EDT "I was re-watching the "Dungeons and Dragons" episode. (I just picked up the series during rerun week) and I noticed the following picture.Dorothy = Sarah (just lost in the confusion) like a blonde in Wal-Mart just ready to go home (Kansas) in hopes of it just being a dream John = The Lion (Fear driven) Cameron = Tin Man without emotion.. Remember Cameron asking John all those questions about emotion and then the sudden dance lessons?? It's an attempt to feel complete. ...John's been living in fear so long, that he must overcome it and take charge... becoming the ravage beast of the future that saves all humanity. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. John = Lion, needs to find the courage to stand up and take charge Cameron = Tin Man, 1- she is a robot 2- understanding human emotions Dorothy = Sarah, things, people and placres charging fast around her so feeling lost and confused, Plus every seems to be forgeting that thier fake surname is BAUM, which is also the surname of the author for the Wizard of Oz. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. It's much deeper then that, because if you recall the story, the tin-man wanted a heart. In the end he found out he always had a heart, because he cared for others. This is the strange and cryptic connection to the tin-miss. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

Also, the in depth comment could possibly be interpreted as a sign of Cameron wants to have a soul. However, I seriously believe even a cyborg or robot could eventually develop characteristics that could gradually seem like a soul. The trick question is, what is her bidding? Will she remain an ally or become a foe? Do you find this valuable? |
