"Now that could work:

[A Terminator comes knocking on the door]

Cameron: Riley, go answer the door. Oh, and if anyone asks; pretend to be Sarah.

Riley: Uh, okay weirdo.

[opens the door]

Terminator: Sarah Connor?

Riley: Yes?

[Terminator blows her head off]

Cameron: Now that's 'tight'."
That's actually a very good use for Riley.
I've been pondering her use for the Connor's since she arrived on the scene, but I think thats the best idea so far.
Also that comment just sparked a question I always wanted to know the answer to.... does "tight" mean good or something now.
Cus when I used the word back in the days of school (like 5-6 yrs ago) it meant bad, you'de say it if someone for example told someone they were fat at school, their friend would reply with something like cmon man thats tight, dont call them that.
Has the word changed meaning over the years? or has it always meant slang for good in the states?

"there could be alot more to her character than that. the one thing i expect is for john to find a mate in this season. I think in ep 5 or 6 she will find out why john act the way he does and she will become a major asset to the team. Just look at Charmed. Pheobe was an air head but also an essential part of that team."
Whoa...a Mate? The kid just turned 16 and JD is 3 1/2 years away. Why would he need a mate? I would have thought that he just wants a GF like most other boys because he REALLY wants to just be a normal boy, not Messiah John Connor.

Indeed, thats why we have the whole situation with Riley to begin with........its his attempt to be normal. He was so much to be normal...

But he cannot escape who he is, and that will manifest as the series progresses.

I live in England, so I don't know about slang words in the US. But Cameron learns the "tight" expression from a group of girls in S01E03 and adopts it as a phrase meaning: cool or neat.

There's a funny moment with her and Morris wherein he's telling her about his first tattoo and Cameron, not knowing how to respond, simply states: "that's tight!"

Simple, either be fake normal or accepting that he is cursed from birth. Riley is just a release valve, a fantansy world, a piece of "John Connor Land" when things gets pretty screwed up. And things are pretty screwed up right now, with John Connor refusing to accept it.

When John offically ditches Riley, then we can be sure that he is a man and ready to fight.

John's character development is a parallel to the Four Stages of Grief:

1) Denial

2) Anger

3) Depression

4) Acceptance

In season 1 John Connor is stuck at stage 1...he thought that the war is an easy fight like in T2.

Now we have a John Connor that is stucked at stage 2 and 3...let's hope that he can get out of those stages soon.
