Terminators - extinct pretty soon?

Terminators have haunted our dreams ever since T1. But Terminators need to be afraid. Very, very Afraid!

I've been watching Future Weapons on Discovery Channel. EMP (Electro Magnetic Pulse Weapon) weapons are already in early development. They are designed to destroy electronics. That means on the battlefield all the modern tech electronics we use for communications, targeting and even travel (tanks, trucks, planes) will burnout.

here's the EMP weapon clip from Future Weapons on Discovery Channel

Congress, the House Armed Services Committee will hear testimony from the scientist who issued the warning and who believes Iran is pursuing such an option.

Here's an article on Milnet. These weapons are producing EMP much stronger than natural ones produced by a nuclear blast.

I hope science fiction writers start including these weapons in their stories. This may be how John Connor captures Terminators. A EMP weapon frys their electronics. John then replaces it with chips that he's designed and programmed. These weapons could be very exciting in future war scenes with Terminators. It would be cool to see a handful of resistance fighters take out a 100 Terminators.

IIRC, there was also a truck-mounted microwave device, essentially a microwave oven on steroids, designed to zap enemy troops and induce excruciating (though temporary) pain.

Might be fun to use one of those contraptions on a terminator and make it yelp ;-)

We would be screwed if that happens, wow. It is my understanding that an easy way to protect against this is to shield the device in a steel box. As for Scifi writers including this in their stories I have seen it done. In Jericho you will notice how all the cars they drive are very old after the attack. Again wow, we would be so screwed. I found a better version of the Future Weapon EMP segment.
This is the full 15 min segment. The other youtube clip had been edited down to 9 min. I didn't realize it earlier.

Yes, I believe there are ways to shield against EMP. Since the Skynet nuked the world I assume it someone was shielded from the Nuke Bombs EMP and same goes for its Terminator army!

Terminators have some shielding from EMP. They survive the nuclear war on judgment day. I think John and the resistance fighters could develop stronger EMP weapons that would be effective against Terminators. Skynet would respond with improved models that are better shielded. The war would continue as each side improves their Technology. I think most future weapons will be based on EMP or laser technology. Do you find this valuable?
