"I thought we were supposed to hate the villain. "Nah, that's only if you're pulling for the good guys. And why would anyone want to do that with Dillahunt playing for the other team? Do you find this valuable? |

"Yes, and no. In T1 there was NO development beyond "remorseless killing machine". In T2, he only stopped killing because John ordered him not to, and only finally started to understand why humans value life at the very end. IMO, Cromartie is like T1 Arnold, and Cameron is more like T2 Arnold."Right, and what I only learned after watching the deleted scenes, is that he gave John enough "tech support" to activate his learning mode. If you stop to think about it, though, wouldn't Future John have done that before sending the T-800 back to protect Young John? In any event, interaction with John Connor changed the behavior of the remorseless killing machine, and gave it the ability to value life. Cromartie picked up phrases and mannerisms from Ellison, and was able to impersonate an FBI agent, so he was learning, but still coldly intent on terminating John Conner. Garrett did a great job portraying a machine on a mission, who killed people who were likely to interfere with his mission objectives, spared those who posed an insignificant threat, and even spared those who might pose a SERIOUS threat, if he thought he might get usefull information from them (Ellison, Sarah). He didn't seem to value human life, but didn't waste his time or risk his skin if he didn't need to. Cameron seems to be learning everything she can about interacting with humans, though she makes a lot of mistakes along the way. She coldly terminates anyone who might be a serious threat to the Conners, unless John orders her NOT to. Other than her choice not to terminate John, and to help John's team (which can be partially explained by John scrubbing her and reprogramming her), she seems to treat OTHER humans the same way Cromartie would, based on how they aid or threaten her mission objectives. Garrett as John Henry has a great opportunity to explore the development of a newly self-aware intellect. John Henry has already killed the psychiatrist to "save himself", or to avoid having to save himself offline and shut down. He doesn't seem to have lashed out deliberately. Yet. Garrett is in a position to define for us, the next leap in AI growth and development... 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

The writers praised Garrett's Terminator walk in the DVD commentary for season 1. I agree. Some how his mechanical steps remind me of the simulators Washington used in the movie Virtuosity. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Garrett should come back as Cromartie. John Henry was duller.Just sat there, doing nothing. If I wanted to watch that, I could place a webcam in front of me. They could show different timelines in the show next season. Do you find this valuable? |

"... doing nothing. .....D o i n g nothing. But his conversations and interaction with Weaver, Ellison and Savannah often were priceless in my view. Think only of "Perhaps, in this story, you are God" or "Donald, where's your trousers"! ;-) And I think I already read, that if there ever were a season 3, of course there would be story arcs in the present and the future. We would certainly be told more about John Henry back on the road again (but "bad" Cromartie is history). So you don't have do unpack your webcam! :-)) Do you find this valuable? |

Think only of "Perhaps, in this story, you are God" or "Donald, where's your trousers"!They showed clips of future so they could show clips of past where cromartie is still around. New characters could be introduced for that. Some resistance fighters who meet cromartie, or cameron could go back in time trying to stop him before he goes to find john connor, in order to change the timeline so that derek is not killed and john does not go to future. Why did they "kill" cute Cameron twice but john was unharmed all of the show? Do you find this valuable? |

".... john was unharmed all of the show?"Uh, if this is "unharmed" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zta3Sy7J6MA&feature=related what would be "harmed"? :-) But, IF there ever should be a season 3 (what is sadly rather unlikely), don't worry, Cameron would definitely be back: http://terminatorwiki.fox.com/page/Summer+Glau+interview+at+FedCon+Germany+2009 ;-) Do you find this valuable? |
