not sure how they killed cromartie

I hate to nitpick, it was a fantastic episode after all, but i thought terminators where built to resist small arms fire. all I recall seeing was sarah and derek with submachine guns and cameron with a shotgun. uncle bob in T2 survived alot more firepower. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. I was thinking the same thing. When he fell over i was like "WHAT?!? That's IT?!?"

Apparently the T-888 has far inferior armor plating than the standard T-800. A T-800 can take a semi-truck to the chin and keep going.

I said this exact same thing. I don't see how a shotgun would blow half his face off unless she is using slugs... 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

They can't destory him too much. They need his endo still entact, because it's not the last we're going to see of Cromatie. Plus, it wasn't until Cameron started shooting him at point blank range with the 12 gauge that he started to talk serious damage. I wouldn't be suprised if she was using a special kind of shotgun "shot." Remember that Coltan bar she saved from Heavy Metal? Maybe she made some Coltan bebe's, and added them into the shells for extra stoping power. Do you find this valuable?

think they were slugs cause she was pretty close to cromartie and once she blew the eye out that made a pocket where slugs can get in side the head and blow a bigger hole

Cam must have created some kind of exploding round that she knew would blow chunks out of it's head. Do you find this valuable?

I'm suprised Derek didn't start shooting him with his 50 cal sniper rifle that is pretty much impossible to shoot standing up but he does it anyway!! lol.. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I may have the answer for how the shotgun shells blew away Cromartie's face.

The answer is explosive bullets. Explosive bullets carry an explosive charge that explodes on contact with the target. This can explain how Cromartie was losing pieces of his metal endoskeletion, but the writers are really stretching the truth about explosive bullets.

In the episode at the military academy when Derek 86'ed that terminator with a .50 cal rifle, he mentioned that he was using a type of armor-piercing, tungston-cored ammo. Maybe the Conner's have loaded their shotguns with a similar ammo - effective against terms at close range.

The T888 were made of coltan not because it's denser but because it's more heat resistant (I think Cameron made that point in "Heavy Metal.") If I'm not mistaken, the T101 series was made of titanium alloy that I'd assume is much stronger. Just a guess on my part but it could explain why "Uncle Bob" could take more punishment. If you recall at the end of T2, he was destroyed in a lava-like, molten metal substance which could have been the impetus behind switching to coltan and it would explain why the Connor's shells can penetrate the Termies in T:TSCC more effectively than the Termies in the movies.

Just a theory.

yeah, while deer slugs have a lot of stopping power, they really are relatively slow velocity and dont have much penetration. the only thing i can think of are some of the exotic military grenade amunition that are HE, HEAT, or maybe even AP Sabot.

That could work, however it stated on that website, those bullets have the effect of "showering the target with burning material to a radius of 5 meters." The bullets Cameron used didn't have that effect.

Cameron stated in "Heavy Metal" that SkyNet built later models with a Coltan alloy for heat resistance. This would be be very useful vs. plasma weapons in 2027, so it makes perfect sense in that respect. Do you find this valuable?

Josh in the chat mentioned a depleted uranium slug that he said his writers found. An exotic armor piercing round.
Anything with a steel or Ti core could possibly be used.

they should let the audience know if a special shell was going to be used , otherwise it seems bogus.
