"Well even I cringed when after the pregnant comment John told her to shut up. People without respect speak like that. It was a little out of character. Its like they are giving bits out on that front like a see saw, its less subtle now."
Yeah he was a dick, but during the ride he was talking to her and explaining things like he did in season 1, which was pretty cool, but you can tell now she likes him, I mean look at the grinny type smiles she did at him tonight.

i was so thrilled by everything that took place in the truck tonight. i'm a fan of dodge now..so their ploy worked. i also think we should vote that they never get out of the car again....in it, they just do so much better together 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

I'm pretty much with AgentCook here. That "shut up" comment was definitely classless, but I guess he kinda made up for it when he explained the empathy bit to her. It really reminded me of the way they talked back in season1 =)

I was also afraid that he was gonna blow her off again and say something rude during the scene, but again, I'm really glad he didn't. There's hope for you (& Cam!!) yet Johnny Boy!

"thank you thank you. the second and third ones are the juicy little clips you guys are probably going to want to read for a quick shot of jameron, right into the veins"
"A quick shot of Jameron" This is so correct that it is funny. The third "Interrupted" piece reminds me of stopping at Starbucks for a double espresso shot in the middle of the day. (lol)

Keep it coming. Your short clips are like RedBull to my sometimes stressed existence.

Unfortunately we're in for some rough times, us Jameron shippers. Riley isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Leven Rambin is still around for the back nine, so that means freakin' Riley is still in the game. Grrrrrrrrrr!!!!

Maybe the writers are headed for a fullout contest between the two, winner takes John. Though if this happens, we all know who'll prevail. Get in there, Cameron!

Loved the fics BTW, Prodigal. :)

Hey Veran:

Although I am a hard core shipper and love your fiction, I also like Reily and want her to stay around a while. I have no doubt that Cameron will be with John in the end, but having this delightfully annoying girl around.

While she does not bother me, I feel that here presence is an important part of John's development. I am also sure that just as Sarah is now starting to understand the cost of her inaction, John will need to live through a very hard lesson as he sees the girl killed because of her attachment to him. No one needs to play chess to understand that this is coming.

"i cant believe that john didnt have a bigger reaction to her smiling at him. twice. talking to him like she was human, listening to music, all this seemed to go right over his head?????? is it just me???
i think this was a major turning point in Cams development, albeit a very subtle one. it didnt seem like the writers wanted to focus on it much."
I actually thought he had the same reaction as in the bedroom scene. He felt uncomfortable! Here's the problem. John loves Cam. But he's supressing his feelings because he's "pretty sure" she can't feel emotion. She could never love him because it's not part of her programming, he thinks. That's why he said, "you'd run over the turtle, wouldn't you?" He has to put her down and make these negative assumptions to justify his supression of his feelings.

Exactly, he's nervous around her. Plus telling a "machine" to shut up is a lot different than saying that to another person. Sorry, but it's true. :)
He's not classless, he's just a bit pithy. Plus, even at the age of 16, a man will be defensive of his mother. :)

i think: he's finally doing some inquiring into her. he's afraid to ask "do you really feel for me"...."or do we have a relationship in the future?" because he's afraid he already knows the answer. he had always had a concept of what terminators are like. cameron breaks all those boundaries down for him. he was in the truck saying "you can't feel touch, you can't feel emotion!!" in anger because he really doesn't know the answer and he wants her to disagree. it's like, you pick on the one you love...he's just frustrated at the moment so he behaves like a meany...if he started showing that he cared and being a gentleman to her...and then finds that she is a machine and nothing more..she doesn't recipricate..he'll feel really stupid.
he's guarding his heart against the pain she might cause. i think, for this reason she'll have to be the one to make the first move.

1. She is not hard to look at.

2. She threatens the Jameron fans who don't have the patience to understand that she will only be here for a while.

3. She annoys Sarah and prompts some funny lines, like the will a bicycle helmet discussion.

4. She will prompt Cameron to become more proactive in protecting her future main squeeze.

5. It will cause John to rethink his whole agenda and understand why he can only really depend on Cameron.

This is not one of the 5 reasons, but I actually like Rileys character. Even though I know she won't be around forever, she has a great personality and most folks would benefit by have her as a friend (or something a lot closer).

I said this before, and deserves being said again. Also, I don't hate Riley at all. I think she's kind of nice. Doesn't do anything for me at all, but still.

Hey Nonprodigal:

A lot of us are seeing Riley through the filter of Hard Core Jameronism (is that a word? {G}) I have friends who are a lot like her and I would not trade any of them for anything. They are fun to be with, and the life of a pool, beach or island party (out in the Halifax river near Ponce Inlet).

If the Cam and John Shippers (and I am one) would put that aside for a moment, how could they not absolutely love this girl who is so vital and ready for anything? I know that she upsets the plot for some but really. . .
