"Maybe I'm just being a perv here (say so if you think that's the case) - but did anyone else pick up an unspoken "If I can feel the cool air blowing on my pretty, healthy bare feet - then doesn't that make you curious as to what and where else I can feel pleasant sensations? Wouldn't you like to help me find out?" vibe from Cameron to John during that conversation?Theres a lot more to her than anyone suspects, and that his been my impression for a long time. It's just that she gets ignored a lot. Maybe she's tired of being ignored. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"I'm quite the opposite. I think she's quite capable of having sex, but it's the emotion part that she's incapable of. Cameron noticed that her little ruse to get rid of Riley last week didn't work. John perceives her as a robot and hence isn't going to give her the time of day (and she only wants that so he'll get rid of Riley becuase she feels she's a security risk). Ergo, Cameron turns on "peronality mode" which she already used for example in the pilot. She starts smiling, acting bratting on the phone, and acting flirty, in an attempt to get John to think of her more humanly. NOT out of desire to be human or act so though, but merely as a way of increasing her influence over John.I thinkthe phone thing is not so much about being a brat or giving derek a hard time in general, but rather about the fact that derek forgot to use the new code and Cam decided to deal with the fact it could have been a term using derek's voice in a funny way. "A woman being provocative does not make her either horny or slutty. I don't see woman in that way, no more then a woman sees a man as being horny and slutty because he has the good sense to shave and shower and not dress like a toad.it is one thing to say "the allure women have" it is quite another to say "the allure living tissue in the form of a woman over a metal endoskeleton has". "There was of course the "I can't let anything happen to him" at the police station, she was distracted and let her guard down and may not even have realised she said it out loud, but earlier at Derek's arms cache she briefly acts and sounds completely human: "You didn't have a room at the last house". I don't think that is a slip on the part of an actor of Summer's calibre and discipline."what if she said "i can't let anytihng happen to him or I will fail my mission" she doesn't have actual feelings for him. John is her top mission priority that's all. as for derek she jsut brought up a counterpoitn to his not being at the house. u hung out at the old house and u didn't have a bed. what's changed? "That is pure speculation. It is believed that she has the same weight as a female of her size would have. 120-130 lbs.Sorry, this is patently false. Imagine your skeleton being turned to various metals, and yet you're still alive. If you weigh around 120-130 pounds normally, your weight with Coltan which is a hybrid metal of something close to Titanium, Tantulum, which is hillariuosly named, would be twice that, if not more so. Sorry, the laws of physics can't be broken. :) Think of the major fight between her and Vick in the back of the prison truck, the several ton vehical bounced back and forth as they slammed each other back and forth. That would be impossible if she was only 130 or so, especially if he weighed around 250. Sorry, but like I said, even Terminators have to obey some laws. :) We could demistrate this of course, by me, at 286 pounds, slamming someone about the same weight as Cameron against the back of the heavly armored, (I think) swat team van. :) Trust me, I wouldn't be able to budge it. :) Look at it this way, if Superman punched you, you'd go flying, possibly into the sun, but, if you and him were in the back of that van, and he punched you with full force, you would slam against the wall of the van, and either A. turn to literally goo from the force, or impossibly fly through the side of the van, and turn to goo... Yeah, even Superman can't fight that law of Physics. Bottom line, Cameron is much heavier than Derek Reese. 0 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

"That's how our skeletons are already. What do you think calcium is?"True. and not only that, but we have a whole range of metals in our bodies in general........Iron, Magnesium, Copper, Nickel, Zinc.......even very small amounts of Lead. and even Arsenic too. Human skeletons are porous and hollow, and made of bone.T skeletons are (to the best of my knowledge ) Solid metal. That being said, we have to accept the fact that we are watching a SciFi program, and that means that sometimes, improbable, unlikely, and even impossible things are going to happen. It would be a pretty boring SciFi show if everything that happend was completely logical and totally believable . 4 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

Humans could walk over them fine, but T's go KABOOM.skynet never really intended them to go on extented missions. they are supposed to get in and kill everyone if it's the future, or their specific target ifi it's the present and then wait for orders. how long have you known a person before u asked them to step on a scale right infront of you or tried lift them up? someone mentioned how the bed didn't sink when cam lay on it beside john. well oblviously summer glau is not that heavy and writers don't always pay as much attention to those little details as we do. He was married for quite some time - likely after having killed and replaced the real already married Vick. He had to sleep on a bed, eat food, and all of the other little things people do in a real marriage, and he had to manage to juggle it all for several months. It IS possible for a woman that weighs as little as Summer Glau to affect the van that much, she just has to be accelerated to an absolutely insane speed to pack the kinetic energy to do so. Also, we don't know just how much of Cameron is actually metal because her model number has never been revealed. Significant portions of her endo-skeleton could be some sort of composite or even some sort of a ceramic. Also, if I were going to build these things, I'd include as much tubing as possible instead of solid stock simply to save on metal. Especially if it's an exotic metal like coltan. "It IS possible for a woman that weighs as little as Summer Glau to affect the van that much, she just has to be accelerated to an absolutely insane speed to pack the kinetic energy to do so"Spot on. Kinetix energy missiles, for example, can penetrate armour. If Cameron had a sharp pointed head, she would have gone through the van/truck. The force they were using to pound each other would certainly have rocked the vehicle (even allowing for dramatic exaggeration). If we're going to take a piece of fiction to piescs because of various scientific laws, then the purpose of watching such shows is soundly defeated. We watch because we want to enjoy a good story. Suspension of disbelief, as has been rightly pointed out upthread, is a prime requirement. I mean, there are science shows for us to watch when we want to see/understand real science at work. While it always serves a drama to maintain a modicum of reality. However, requiring it r to remain strictly bound by reality defeats the entire exercise somewhar.. Me? I just enjoy the stuff. Now I'd just like to see Cameron and Riley go at it - preferabky in a van, if Riley turns out to be a sleeper-T. Oooh yessss. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

For arguments sake I noticed vic getting smashed off the vans walls and the resulting swerve but not Cameron.Im sure in the world of Terminator she is in fact heavier than a human of her build but they cant/dont portray that in the show so easily. Do you find this valuable? |

"Which completely ruins their use as infiltrators. Use choke points and pressure sensitive mines at the doors to the tunnels. Humans could walk over them fine, but T's go KABOOM.I should point out that just because you can make a mine that blows up on heavy weight, doesn't mean that the person attempting to cross it is a terminator. :) What if there's two to six people dragging something that weighs several hundred pounds behind them. Won't they all die from the explosion? Then we have to remove mines from the equation. Plus it's a TV show. :) I'm not entirely certain how much Cameron weighs, but even if she's close to my weight, (dodges rockets from cranky fans) a normal bed won't creak much unless she jumps on it from the roof. :) Besides, mines are useless and can blow up to easy. What's a choke point? They could also use X-ray machines or something, I mean, it can't be too hard to find one even in the future. :) I also feel sorry for Vick. :) So, anyone else? "That is pure speculation. It is believed that she has the same weight as a female of her size would have. 120-130 lbs.Again, they ALWAYS weigh AT LEAST twice what a human of similar build weighs. Probably the only exception is if they were made of nearly all carbon composite or something, or like the Termies from that one book that were really human but with chips in their brains. "Also, if I were going to build these things, I'd include as much tubing as possible instead of solid stock simply to save on metal. You'd end up having to make more and ergo, use the same amount of metal just in more units. Do you find this valuable? |
