Derek
Nov 23 2008, 8:26 PM EST
Derek needs a bigger role in TSCC. Past few episodes hes been out of it. Also, why do you think he has such a bad relationship with the Connors? Sarah always seems to miss and love Kyle, and Derek is the closest thing to Kyle shes got. Both John and Sarah seem to be not liking derek.

Derek is too busy making sweet sweet love to Jesse. All he seems to care about right now. But of course looking at Jesse, who can blame him?

Particularly with John, I can get past his negativity and I hope that John can grow to understand him better. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

I think Derek and Sarah started off on the wrong foot. They didn't like each other from the moment they met, and both Sarah and Derek are too proud to apologize or even be civil towards one another. In most situations with these two, it usually becomes a pissing contest to show superiority. If that's the case, living together would be hell. And let's be honest, we're not sure if Derek suspects Jesse of any mischief. Assuming he doesn't, why would he choose to be around Sarah who is always putting him down when he can be in a hotel room with Jesse, who gives him lots'a lovin'?That being said, it doesn't mean he's forgotten about John or Sarah. But he sees the personal problems as *their* problems and that he can't fix them. It doesn't seem like too much of a stretch for him to think that Sarah probably wouldn't even want his help, since helping involves giving her some advice. Also, I'm not sure he knows how to deal people with personal issues, seeing as how everyone he knows in the future are tough and probably don't show this kind of emotion so openly. I don't know though. I'm just speculating at this point and placing myself in that situation. I'm not extroverted or empathetic. I have a hard time dealing with people especially with personal problems. I see avoidance as the most natural reaction. 2 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

Banging Jesse/eating hot dogs in the park Derek is a waste of a great character. He really should be interacting more with John, recruiting more people for the resistance, and while we did get a semi-confrontation between John & Derek in last night's episode, I just want to see the both of them go balls out on one another just for the sheer fact that he hasn't been around since Jesse showed up. Derek standing down to 16 year old John? I honestly think that in the future, the JC he knows is a nutcase with a short fuse, otherwise I can't see why he would just back down from him that way. He should also be watching his back a bit more with Jesse. Why isn't he doing more surveillance on her? Obviously he knows that she was sent back to "watch" the Connors now, but given the reveal that Riley is most likely another resistance fighter sent back in time and the fact that she has ties to Jesse...come on! Derek, get a goddamn grip, how the fuck can you miss something like that? Keep your dick in your pants for five minutes, avoid that hot dog vendor and figure some shit out. NOW. The scene when he tells Jesse who he is to John Connor and remarks "I love you, but don't push it." seemed kinda forced. 6 out of 6 found this valuable. Do you? |

They ALL need to get their heads out of their asses--they're making huge mistakes--leaving the kid alive in the bowling alley, leaving Cromartie behind in Mexico, allowing the Riley thing (does no one remember what happened to Charlie's wife?), believing Ellison without even looking in the trunk of his car AND not confiding in him (he's proven to be vulnerable to manipulation because he just doesn't know enough), etc. 3 out of 3 found this valuable. What I think it's going to come down to is Derek having to make a choice - the Connors or Jesse, and my prediction is that he's probably going to have to kill her. She's shady, knows how to evade direct questions (i.e. the toothbrush confession) and that she's in this with her own agenda and is using their relationship as a cover. So far, it's been working, but if you notice the minute details, Derek's facial expressions, for example (which really prove just how great an actor BAG is, it's rare when an actor can say so much without uttering a single word), he's putting the pieces together, and he will eventually figure out what her true motives are. You have to remember that this is just one story arc and we're not even half-way through the season yet. So I guess it's plausible for now that the writers felt it was necessary for Derek and Jesse to have more interaction than Derek and the Connors to set up the catalyst of what will eventually go down between the two of them, and my bet is that he's going to have to make a really heartbreaking decision when the truth finally comes out. 3 out of 3 found this valuable.
