Its also implied in the pilot when Cemeron said "same where, different when". I think I remember the show having a scene of both Derek and his team and Jesse and Riley arriving, it would be interesting if they used the same location for both.

On a side note 12 Monkeys is an amazing movie, one of my favorites. As for time travel movies go i would put it right up there with Primer. I'm also surprised they haven't used the dropbox idea. Maybe they decided it would over complicate the timeline (which is already becoming increasingly complex).

IMO drop box would not work in terminator mythology because they are using time travel as creating different futures. When the termie sent back in time drops a picture of John Connor somewhere for Skynet to pick up, it is not the same skynet that sent him back and thus would not know of the dropbox.

You could assume they would go through the same thought process and arrive at the same conclusion to use the dropbox in the new timeline, as long as it is not too radically changed. But I agree it would be iffy. Do you find this valuable?

Not iffy at all.
The drop box is established in the past by the time traveller. Knowledge of its existence is passed up the new timeline, likely along several routes, to ensure that the box is known to the traveller's "handlers" or "helpers" in the future.

but you have to assume the handlers or helpers still exist in the new timeline, and if the knowledge of its existence could be passed up the timeline in that fashion, why not just pass all the information up in the same manner. Do you find this valuable?

This could be a cell phone number from Switzerland. "41" would be the country code and the zero is typical for a cell phone.
The next arrival could transport into Switzerland and speak 4 languages to create a European craze for the series.

"Bank Account number"
Bank account number yes. I wish I could get credit for thinking of it first! That award goes to someone else once we learn the truth.
Actually, maybe if we try Sarah's licking method of enlightenment ( http://terminatorwiki.fox.com/page/TSCC+Macros ) we'll suddenly understand. Anybody found an amphibian for that yet? ;-)

I think the last 'zero' is actually a 6, making the number 0419106644. I think it is 2 dates. The first is in the future: April 19, 2010. The second is in the past June 6, 1944, otherwise known as D-Day. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I don't know where I saw this in one of the episodes, but a 10 letter code was assigned to each prisoner in the skynet camps. I'm thinking maybe it's the code for a resistance fight sent back in time that the Connors should watch out for...maybe Jesse? Do you find this valuable?

I hope its not a credit card number. I just got a call from my credit card company who told me someone around the world just tried (unsuccessfully) to use a credit card number I haven't used for 2 years. Dang criminals. If it is a credit card number, then attempting to use it will alert the company and card holder, so don't do that with the number..... Do you find this valuable?

"Its a MAC or IP address?"
I don't think so.

MAC address:
MAC addresses are made up of 6 pairs of hexadecimal digits, so it's 2 digits too short.

IP Address:
IP addresses are made up of 4, three digit numbers between 0 and 255. However, as someone noted earlier in the thread, it is pretty uncommon for extra 0's to be left in the ip address. Example: you would usually write:
192.168.0.1, not:
192 .168.000.001

So even if we allow for the odd formatting, the only valid ip address I could get from those numbers (correct me if you see another one) is: 04.191.006.44, or if we put it into a more standard notation 4.191.6.44.

I ran a whois on that IP and it currently belongs to Level 3 Communications, Inc. (they own the entire 4/8 block of IP addresses)

L3 is a HUGE player in the internet backbone network, so they fit pretty well into the "creator of Skynet" role.
However, something tells me that FOX wouldn't risk getting their asses sued off by letting one of their programs suggest that L3 will cause a cyborg apocalypse! lol
