OT - Fallout 3 Cyborg Character Design
Dec 18 2008, 3:56 PM EST
So I finally got hold of a copy of Fallout 3 for my Xbox 360 today, and I decided to mold my character's stats and skills to best create a Cyborg. However, being new to the game, I haven't much clue how to proceed with this, so I'm hoping someone on here can lend me a hand.Anyone who plays, or has played Fallout 3, can you lend me your expertise and help me create an effective cyborg character? I wanna go for a combat/stealth approach, as well as all the cyborg aspects. A little help? 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Fallout 3 is an amazing game. An amazing, and somewhat humourous, look at a post apocalyptic society. What do you mean by cyborg? For what you are going for I would say put points in strength, endurance, and stealth. Do you find this valuable? |

"Fallout 3 is an amazing game. An amazing, and somewhat humourous, look at a post apocalyptic society. There's a Cyborg perk that inspired me to go for that route. Yeah, I was thinking Agility over Strength. I'm going for a human/cyborg, as opposed to a hulking Terminator. If that makes sense. A character that is deadly efficient. Do you find this valuable? |

Maximize the Energy Weapons skill and take that Grim Reaper perk at level 20, you'll have a deadly precision and AP that's full almost all the time. Can't tell you more, can't remember, I just pick every game that's being shipped at my shop(I have a huge discount for PC games). I'll try to look for my save and give you some tips, I had a sharp shooter with loads of HP and AP. Do you find this valuable? |

Well the cyborg perk is a good one to get. I would just focus on the combat stats then, and choose which ever ones you would have fun with, and avoid the charm and charisma stats (cyborgs have no need for talking :P). If you want to role play as a cyborg i would suggest to stay as neutral as possible. The extremes tend to be either sadistic or overly sappy. Interestingly enough there is a cyborg character in the game, buts its more of an homage to Blade Runner than to Terminator. Do you find this valuable? |

Thanks for your tips so far, guys. Much appreciated. :)Anything else you can suggest will be welcome. I'm told that the science skills and repair are really useful for all characters and it kinda fits with a cyborg. Do you find this valuable? |

Yeah, the total letdown is that in order to repair your items you need to have a copy of them. So if you get the Alien Blaster by any chance (which btw, after 10 shots is at about 90% of it's working capacity) you won't have much fun with it. And the repair prices at shops are too high. Have fun with it and don't hesitate to ask me if you get stuck n the main storyline or anywhere else, I kinda did every quest I could cause after you finish the main story you won't be able to free roam as in Oblivion.

I'm a little late to the party on this one, but I just started playing this game last week. Pretty cool. I kinda feel like a tunnel-rat playing the game...but without the killer cyborgs and all. I'm not very far yet... I just made it to the Galaxy News Radio station.

On a side note, if you decide to go for the big cyborg type later, prolly strength/endurance and big guns or something? I don't know, I've never been the big guns type. My character has always been along the lines of an assassin/ninja (it was like that in Morrowind and Oblivion, previous Bethesda games). Do you find this valuable? |

This is probably too late to be of use, but you need 60% science and 60% medicine skill to get the cyborg perk.

That was cool."I always like the assassin character type. But then I get delusions of grandeur and start envisioning the raw power of wizards, so I'm usually torn between the two concepts. Luckily, Fallout doesn't have any wizard types to tempt me, and I like to go for a character who is tough, fast, and smart (aka cyborg). Do you find this valuable? |

"I always like the assassin character type. But then I get delusions of grandeur and start envisioning the raw power of wizards, so I'm usually torn between the two concepts.Yeah, here's the neat thing with Oblivion: the assassin type was cool because it really fit the character I liked to play; sneaky, clever, adaptive, fast, etc. And it was fairly simple to learn the trade (although I admit there was always an "art" to it for me). BUT if you play a wizard, you have the potential to become the most powerful character in the game through the manipulation of your own stats and such, turning yourself into the perfect warrior-ninja-spellcaster just by throwing on a few buffs. But yeah, I really like your fallout 3 approach. You know, when I get the spare time I could look into a terminator themed makeover for fallout 3 with a questline...that would be interesting to explore... Do you find this valuable? |
