This is a great forum. Has a very structured feel to it. I spend a lot of time at IMDB in the movie forums, their TSCC forum is pretty active, but the amount of people trying to be jack asses is incredible. Yeah I know , but over there just straight out name calling again and again. whats scary is when you look at the posters history you see them posting similar comments everywhere and they are being serious. Almost everyone here IS a dedicated fan of the show, it is very obvious.

I like to read the posts on these forums, some are very funny or very insightful. But the forum software could use some extra stuff that would make it less bothersome to do some stuff :P

So many people on the forums there are just swearing and arguing with each other or criticizing the show. I haven't been on many other forums but I really like this one. Do you find this valuable? |

This is probably the worst forum I'm on when I have the time for it. Just way too many die-hards here who take the show and this message board too seriously.

The "decent-person-to-asshat" ratio is higher here than most other enthusiast sites I visit, given the general freedom this forum has. There's too much fluff, nonsense, and multiple threads about the same exact thing, but that is just the price of having a large member list.

My wife is a better source than all these forums. It is fun to hear speculations & theories. Some people get adamant about their theories though. But that is life. As long as it doesn't get abusive or dumb that is just fine. For example I respect Schmacky for bringing good points and speculations to these boards. She keeps her debate about the points and not personal. Do you find this valuable? |

about the forums by itself, as organization, software and all that, i say it's still very confusing even for old school forum users. Wetpaint has a very good wiki system that i fancy, but the forum part is very messy and sometimes you just don't want to spend so much time doing things that in another place would be faster, like a php forum, for example. The lack of one simple edit button is annoying, and the lack of organization in the main discussion forum is too. If there was a way to put each session also as the php system, that would make everyone's lives easier. If you want to chat, go to this session. If you want to talk about yesterday's episode, go to this other session. Simple as that, no need to dig through tons of threads in the main screen! I know, there are locations, but if they were exposed like saying again, the phpbb system, it would be much easier. You can have the chats, you can have the OT threads, you can have the big discussions. Everyone happy. People with good and bad intentions are everywhere. Deal with it, live with it. That's just how things goes and we're in a wiki/forum about a show that shows exactly that. I've made a couple of friends here and i really do enjoy this place! And what i like about this place the most is that is directly related to the official site =D Do you find this valuable? |
