Anti-Jameron
Dec 28 2008, 11:59 PM EST | Post edited: Dec 28 2008, 11:59 PM EST
Alright, my brother informs me of people who feel that it would be so cool if John had feelings for Cameron. Cameron is cute, attractive and a FREAKIN ROBOT. If you find yourself developing feelings for a robot, then you need to take a step back from reality. For starters, from the way John treats her, it is quite obvious that he has no feelings for her. Second, if he did, that would make for a very cheasy show with him falling in love with a robot thats beauty is literally skin deep. She is at heart, a robot, designed to kill people, programmed as a machine. I see the chances of John falling in love with her on a similar level as me falling in love with this lenovo T61 Laptop that I am typing from. There never has, nor will there ever be a romance. If you want romance, there are plenty of cheesy flicks out there with that. But if you want Sci-fi, then this should be pure Sci-fi, not a mixture. I made my point, but its beating a dead horse to be honest. 7  out of 27 found this valuable. Do you?

It's sad that so many people have such narrow minds and lack the ability to look deeper than the surface. Take a long look at our history, then tell me that such prejudices did not exist before, and were overcome. Cameron is more than just a robot; she is a cybernetic organism.

It's not a troll. It's the other side of an opinion. One that I agree with.

You obviously do not understand what a cybernetic organism is. I am a computer geek, and have been fascinated by real cybernetic organisms. Cameron does not depend on her flesh; she wears it like a cloak, and even if she was a "cybernetic organism," simply having flesh on the outside of a coltan shell does not give her feelings toward John. You wanna see a true cyborg? Look in Popular Science and in Star Trek. Cameron may have flesh, but she still is a robot. She may have a huge level of AI, but deep down she is a robot operating on sophisticated algorithms.

500 years form now, you wont be able to tell humans from robots.

Let Google show you the way: Key words "Real Doll", "Cherry 2000".

I respect your view, but like you said... We've (The wiki) has had this argument already.

I guess Blade Runner is not pure SciFi then.

(And to preempt the standard response, the movie is an exploration of whether the replicant could find their own humanity. Whether they were a biological machine or a silicon one is really insignificant to the main theme).

I think what makes Cameron so fascinating is that she's displayed unpredictability that intrigues people. No one knows really what she's capable of anymore. She doesn't have the standard straight forward programming. Technology often does things they're not programmed to, like the Turk having "moods" and defying protocol. It's what leads to Skynet, this unpredictability in a machine. And if it's unpredictable, then it now possesses a true human trait. Because humans aren't always logical either. We have diverse moral codes and different ways of looking at problems. And one day, so will computers. Besides, we're nothing but biological computers ourselves, run by electrical impulses to our chips...our brains. think about that next time you wake up in the morning, lol.

Yall are changing the subject, I am trying to explain why Cameron will never have feelings for John and vice versa. If I have to get on here in one year and say "I told you so." then I will.

Cameron is a computer on feet. Call it/her a robot or a "cybernetic organism" she is not going to fall in love. The reason why is the same reason why Deep Blue (A REAL LIFE supercomputer) did not fall in love with anyone.

John repeatedly not only does not show interest in Cameron, but if Jameron people would stop watching the show looking for what you want to see, you would see he treats her with a slight disgust, or toleration. He tolerates her. But nothing more. Gee folks, I think the reason why yall are all up in arms is because you people know there is nothing between them, but desperately want something to happen. Lol reminds me of my mom almost. meh whatever. Keep in mind that its only a tv show.

Wooh, more people that are opposed to the Jameron scenario. Though my reasons are not because Cameron is a machine, if she were human I would have the same opinion. John Connor should not have relationships, at least pre-JD. He of all people should know that the people that he cares most about could be killed on JD. And even after it, he knows that a lot of people are going to die, and he knows what Skynet is capable of. If he had a close relationship with someone, that would provide Skynet with some that they could make an infiltrator of, and use it to get close to him and kill him. 0  out of 1 found this valuable.
