"And just to spur on a discussion:big, explosively. kind of like SandD only much nicer and minus the killing part. Sort of influenced by events already happening, and sort of blurted out, without an immediate reaction until later. Sort of like, blurting "I LOVE YOU" right before you go into a burning building to save your dog. you get distracted, but later, when Fido's okay, you can relax and realize what you said in the heat of the moment...in this analogy, literally. If he's all unsure/nervous about the whole thing, he would probably try to explain that it was that "heat of the moment" thing you mentioned. But he would probably fail to explain it to Cameron's satisfaction. Do you find this valuable? |

"I can kinda see an awkward moment spurring from that...I was seeing it kinda backwards from that, in a calmer moment where John just sorta forgets he's never said it before until after he does, then turns two shades of red and we get to see Cameron react to his inevitable minute or so of awkward silence or stammering. This could even be started as a RESULT of his recent negative behavior toward her - if she asks him what's up and the conversation presents him the opportunity to say how he feels without really thinking about it first. I'm thinking it will be something to do with Cameron's curiosity toward human behavior. "There are still many things I don't understand." Maybe she'll wonder why putting one's mouth on another's is a sign of affection. John's gonna have to school her on face-sucking. Do you find this valuable? |

Cam: "you're lying."John: What? how do YOU know, you haven't even touched me? Cam: You said you love me. you're lying. John: Oh yeah? Cam: Yes. Since my little "chip" incident you've been nothing but indifferent to my existance, causing me to question my usefulness and my purpose for being alive. You purposely started hanging out with Riley to try and sweep me under the rug, and then refused to listen to me when i told you she was a lying bish from the future. According to my definition, that is no where NEAR love. John: Er...how about tough love? Cam:...I'll get back to you when I've collated enough data. *leaves* 2 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

Aww thank you LB for starting this thread![nostalgia mode] I remember when i first began watching TSCC, John was kinda mean to Cam and sometimes he even seemed to hate her, but when he thought she was in trouble he had to be held back - there was definitely something more going on than just robot protector/protectee, or even the fake siblings facade they maintained, and I wondered how far the show would take it. Then in Vick's Chip... Oh... My... God... He's stroking her hair!!! I remember being so excited next day talking to a guy at work who hadn't been watching the show: "I think he loves her!" But what really surprised me was that I actually cared. I'm like an eight year old kid when it comes to movies and TV, I love action/thriller/SF and I hate that lovey-dovey stuff, and here I was getting excited about a relationship between two fictional characters! Honestly, that's pretty much unprecedented for me, and what's more, in was in an SF show about killer robots from the future! It was absolutely the last thing I expected to happen when I began watching the show. Major, major kudos to Thomas and Summer and the writers and producers. [end nostalgia mode] So please pleeease bring back something - anything, I'm like Pharazon, I don't care if John has a real girlfriend concubine-style if that's what he wants, but John and Cam have to have some kind of close relationship. Since I believe that in the future John and Cam together are the core of the Resistance, I'd go so far as to say that in the TerminatorVerse, John and Cam is the most important relationship in the history of humanity. 3 out of 3 found this valuable. "Our Mrs Reynolds?"dammit. *gives cookie* T_T lol and sweetness IvyMike! oh god, I don't even want to recount my reaction to Vick's Chip. that whole episode had me in horrifyingly good spirits...until What He Beheld. If I had been 60-70 pounds heavier I may have punched a hole in my wall, i was so mad they'd "killed" Cam. What first ticked me off to their future relationship with each other was the way Cameron said "you're safe now" when they'd come forward in time. Just the fact that she said it to him, again trying to comfort him and make him feel secure made me think she'd go above and beyond her call of duty to keep him physically safe. She'd keep him emotionally safe and grounded as well...if given the chance. 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

I usually can't stand chick-flicks, and most romance movies make me gag. There are some exceptions of course. A show/movie where I genuinely CARE about the character and WANT something to happen between them is few and far between. Mulder/Scully was the last real "ship" I was desperately rooting for that I can remember. With the Jameron-ship, I tend to waffle... some days I really want it to happen, and other days I think it would be lame. It might have a correlation to how much Scotch is in my bloodstream. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

I just can't see the TSCC writers really going hard-over Jameron shipee-ness. They would rather leave the stovetop burner on simmer rather than really get it boiling big-time. Kind of like they did for many years on the X-files between Scully & Mulder, throwing us a bone every now and then, some signs of affection, but never passionate stuff that might make us fans want to smoke a cigarette afterwards. I guess its better to keep that mystery and sexual tension between John and Cameron rather than get closure on it. Because if you do, then where do they go from there? Into boredom, according to show business models.
