"JMH has really turned the tables and turned John into an almost villain character in one future (grayworld) and Cameron into a villain in two futures (grayworld and foundation). I'm not sure if the story will come around and return John to the hero podium or not. If he does, I think there needs to be some major events that put John (and Cameron) back to the "good-guy" role in the mind of the reader."You bring up a good point, but the line between hero and villain can be a very thin one... John is fighting for the survival of the species and has as enemies not just the machine force standing across the battlefield but also a whole cast of malcontents in his own ranks. Long gone are the T1/T2 timelines where John is universally adored and followed; now we have a resistance that seems to find fault with everything he does, plots against him and in 3 of the timelines causes the resistance to fail. JMH brought up the point that only in the T2 timeline was the resistance victorious. "Whiteworld," "Grayworld" and the Foundation Future were all lost to Skynet because of the actions of these "rebel" resistance factions that are bent on opposing John Connor. So who really are the villains? Do you find this valuable? |

I suppose it has to do with one's circumstances. If I were a soldier in Grayworld and knew about what was going on, I'd despise Cameron and Connor too. Who wouldn't? The Cameron in Grayworld isn't any nicer than the Cameron in the Foundation World. On the other hand, if I were John Connor in the junkyard, I'd beat the **** out of Sarah too. And this isn't because I'm thinking with my dick, I'd beat Sarah even if Cameron looked like Uncle Bob. In my opinion, Sarah was out of line -- and ******* crazy to boot. And on the *other* hand, if I were Jesse, I'd be gunning for revenge against John and Cam too. It all depends on who's shoes you're in. Grayworld Connor isn't all that unlikely. I could easily see how a teenage boy could gradually grow into a monster, especially when he has a fanatically loyal sociopathic robot (who looks like Summer Glau!) as his confidant. The Rebel Resistance may have cost themselves the war, but it's not hard to see why they would oppose their leader being romantically involved with a robot -- especially when that machine controls the secret police. Cameron in Grayworld could using different way to "handle" the people in that "list" like Allison. She has all the data of her research from Foundation world, right? so what would be difficult for her to do something like change Allison appearance by cosmetic surgery? The secret police team could just go in take Allison family to a facility do the work, give them new IDs. since their old record were deleted and that also happen to others that not Gray.May be the only hope to win Skynet in a world John and Cameron together is "somehow" Cameron gained "moral" and get the idea of "human life is sacred" other than that, there would be always a rebel resistance group because they can/would not able to stand her "heartless" judgment. But as far as this series went at this moment, Cameron seem no way to gain a bit of "moral" or human life is sacred." She all most seem hate human because of their attempt on hurting John or her. Do you find this valuable? |

Well, Grayworld-Cameron knows nothing about the Foundation. Grayworld "preceded" Foundation-World.Here's a timeline chart. TIMELINE A: Whiteworld 1984: Events of T1 happen. 1995: Events of T2 happen. 2005: Sarah dies of cancer. 2011: Judgment Day Unknown: Cromartie is sent back to 1999 (Timeline B) kill John Connor Unknown: Weaver goes back to 2006? (Timeline B). 2027: TOK-715 attempts to kill General Connor. General Connor reprograms her and names her Cameron. Derek is sent to 2007 (Timeline B). Nemuro is sent to 1963 (Timeline B). Later General Connor is killed by Jesse Flores. Cameron flees into the year 1999 (Timeline B). Resistance falls apart. Many refugees (Cullen Boyle, Private Karlan, Colonel Zeller, etc . . .) flee to the past (to Timeline B). Skynet wins. - TIMELINE B: Grayworld 1963: Nemuro arrives (From Timeline A). 1977: Cullen Boyle (from Timeline A) arrives. 1984: Events of T1 happen. 1995: Events of T2 happen. 1999: Cameron and Cromartie (Both from Timeline A) arrive. Cameron saves John from Cromartie. Team Connor jumps to the year 2007 2006: Weaver arrives (from Timeline A) 2007: Derek (From Timeline A) arrives. Team Connor arrives. The events of Samson and Delilah happen -- but Riley and Jesse *do not* appear. 2011: Sarah dies of cancer, writes her diaries. 2012: Judgment Day. Cameron is right by John's side. 2020: Cameron sends a death squad after Allison. 2027: Jesse blows off Cameron's head. Jesse then finds Riley and flees to the year 2007 (Timeline C). John executes most of the Resistance's High Command and vanishes into the TDE. The Resistance falls apart. Many refugees (Allison, Oliver Boyle, etc . . .) flee to the past (to Timeline C). Oliver Boyle (From Timeline B) arrives. 1995: Events of T2 happen. 1999: Cameron and Cromartie (Both from Timeline A) arrive. Cameron saves John from Cromartie. My story takes place in Timeline D.This chart doesn't cover everything, but I hope it explains the different relationships between the various timelines. Basically, Cameron "created" Grayworld, and Grayworld Jesse and Riley "created" Foundation World . . . and now Kyle has "created" the present timeline. It's sort of like temporal dominoes. Each cycle adds to the previous iteration. Hope this helps. Do you find this valuable? |

LOL... yeah, that's almost as convoluted as the movie "Primer".... well... not quite as much so, but you're getting there. ;)I think I have/had most of it figured out except for some of the more minor details with secondary characters like Ollie and Cullie. One thing I kinda forgot about was that Grayworld-Connor makes a TDE jump to some unknown time. It'll be interesting to find out when/where he ends up. Do you find this valuable? |

Heh, I loved the movie, Primer. Very, very clever indie movie. "Foundation time?"It would be impossible for him to jump from one timeline to the other. The time-path to grayworld was closed off when Jesse and Riley came back. Maybe he went back to the 1960's to meet up with Nemuro and take care of some business, and ends up shacking up with some woman, and in 1965 has a daughter and names her Sarah. And there you have it... John Connor is his own grandfather. Do you find this valuable? |
