Real Military Robots by 2015

A couple articles about the miltary's development of robots. They've already got prototypes in use.
I plan to order this guys book. He's done some great research on what the military is doing.

This is pretty scary stuff. These thing will kill anything that moves. They don't give a crap.

It's like those T-1s that T-X reprogrammed.

We should take these down before skynet goes online.

*adds to "to-do" list.

It will definitely be interesting to see what the military of the future looks like.

Currently the military has no autonomous robots, everything is controlled through teleoperation by a human. This still raises ethical issues though, since it distances the human from the action helping to desensitize them to their actions.

Military already uses "robots" for bomb defusing and reconnaissances. Do you find this valuable?

The police have used remote controlled robots for over 10 years. They send them into hostage situations to check out the room. Where the bad guys are standing, weapons etc. They have speaker/intercoms to negotiate and yes, those things can fire weapons like tear gas or stun grenades.

Independent, self-controlled robots are just a few years away.

Those would freak me to hell out.

If they malfunction, there goes about 50 lives.

I see one, I'mma grabbing my baseball bat >.>

The sad thing is that I can almost see people saying that...LOL...

Bah, I'm not worried about robots. Hang in there, baby!

We'll get by, 'cause that's what we do. =)

Technically, are called "Autonomous Combat Units" or ACU. ;)

Yes. They are robot soldiers. It is assumed that they will be operational in 10 years...

BTW. They will be led by a neural net processor. Ring a bell? :D

TSCC is actually more scary than T1 or T2 because the time line seems so accurate. A bot similar to Cameron might actually exist in 2027 for real. It won't be quite as smart or life like, but a killer bot is a killer bot. Do you find this valuable?
