The Question and Answer Thread (NEW FANS PLEASE CLICK <--)
Feb 14 2009, 5:20 AM EST | Post edited: Feb 14 2009, 5:20 AM EST
Well, I realized we get a lot of repeat threads filled with questions that have been answered numerous times so I thought it'd be good idea to have a thread that kinda organizes these questions for any of the newer fans.

So if you've got a question that needs to be answered post it here! I'll also make a list of "unanswered questions" so people will know what has truly been answered and what's really just speculation!

So... here we go!

SEASON 1 COMMON QUESTIONS:

1) Why is Cameron so human-like in the Pilot, but seemingly reverts to a clueless robot in Gnothi Seauton?

Answer: There are actually 2 answers to this. If you are willing to take it in the context of the plot, the OFFICIAL ANSWER straight from the mouth of Josh Friedman himself is that Cameron had a specific mission in the Pilot; get close to John. So after her identity was compromised by Cromartie's attack, there was no reason to pretend to be a human anymore.

The second answer has to do with the tweeking of the writing after the Pilot. Apparently, Cameron's character was changed a bit after the Pilot, hence the change in character. Actually, the Gnothi Seauton was filmed months after the Pilot and is pretty common in TV where Pilots are very different then what the rest of the show is.

2) How did Cromartie's head follow the Connors through the time displacement field if it didn't have any flesh?

Answer: Another annoying nitpick that has been answered directly by the writers/producers. The head actually had flesh around it as it went through, it just "burned off." The SFX crew had to "sensor" it in a way so that this wasn't visible on scene as it is somewhat gratuitous.

(continued)

3) What happened to the high school plot? The paintings on the walls? Cheri and Morris? THE PROM?

Answer: Two words: Writer’s Strike. Yup, due to the shortened first season (9 episodes which shoulda been 13) they had to cut high school out completely after S2 was confirmed, completely eliminating any plotlines from John and Cam’s small time in high school. So, we’ll never know what the heck was up with Cheri, what was going on with the guidance counselor and the paintings, and we’ll never get to see Cameron go to the Prom with Morris. 

4) Why did Cromartie let Ellison live?

Answer: Confirmed in S2, Cromartie let Ellison live as he believed that he would lead him to the Connors.

5) Isn’t this show supposed to lead to T3? Why should I even watch it if I already know what’s gonna happen at the end?

Answer: T:SCC has NO RELATION! 0. NONE. ZIP. This is an alternate timeline in the Terminator universe and you can either chose to blatantly ignore the craptastic T3 (as most fans do) or just accept that T3 and T:SCC just don’t share the same timeline.

6) How come Sarah’s hand didn’t really hurt after she “slapped” Cameron in Gnothi Seauton?

Answer: Sarah actually pistol whipped Cam… so… hand had no contact with endoskeleton which = no hurting. ^^

7) How is John able to have the same blood type as Derek when Sarah has O-? How is it possible that he has AB-?

Answer: Plothole! Scientific error on the writer’s part. It has been acknowledged so don’t be too bugged about it.

8) How do you take down a Terminator?

Answer: Shock em’ with some high voltage electricity and they have to go into reboot mode for exactly 120 seconds. This is a MAJOR rule in T:SCC.

9) Why doesn’t Cameron listen to orders from Sarah or even John?

Answer: Simply, she isn’t programmed to directly answer to Sarah or younger John. She apparently has set orders from Future!John that remain relatively unknown. So, yeah, the Connor Crew can’t order her around like Little!John did with AHNULD in T2.

SEASON 2 COMMON QUESTIONS

1) Why exactly did that blast bust up Cameron’s chip?

Answer: While there is not OFFICAL answer to this, most people accept that the force of the blast was enough to launch the schrapnel into her school at a high enough velocity to penetrate to her chip. This isn’t too hard to believe if you think about it. Metal at a high velocity can penetrate even the toughest armors. (Armor piercing bullets for example.) This was a HUGE chunk of metal and Cameron’s chip is located in a place that could be effected by it.

2) How come Cromartie was taken down by (pretty much) just a giant shotgun?

Answer: OFFICAL answer from Josh and writers, the rounds in the shotgun were not your standard bullets. They were coated in tungsten (if I’m wrong please correct me!) which are actually able to explode on impact and effectively bust up Cromartie. ( I think my details are wrong on this one!)

Urm, can’t think of anymore at the moment! If I’m missing anything horribly obvious, plz tell me! :P

Well that clears up a lot of questions I still wondered about

I am still disappointed we never knew what happened to that girl Cheri and why we can't have another Prom thing with Cameron?? It's not like they can't have another school episode and make it about Cam at the prom . . .it would be hilarious.

trigger_happy 14's Q and A GUIDE TO THE T:SCC WIKI

1) What is a shipper?

Answer: A shipper is a person who wants two characters to be romantically involved. These usually have "shipper names" that squish together the names of the two people (or robots!). For T:SCC these names =

Jameron - John/Cameron
Jiley - John/Riley
Sarek or Serek - Derek/Sarah
Camerah - Cameron/Sarah

There are probably others, but these are the most commonly accepted ones at the moment.

2) How do I post "clickable" links?

Answer: You can't. Sadly, only links that connect directly to this site are "clickable" when you post it.

3) What's this "do you find this valuable?" thing under all the posts?

Answer: If you think someone's comments if helpful say "yes" and the post will say "1/1 found this valuable." This is a way for the Wiki and other people to keep tabs on helpful comments and also help people weed out the incorrect or idiotic comments. If you have a significant number of positive points, consider it a compliment! :P If you get a lot of negative points, try to look over your post and see why people may be marking it down.

(BTW this is also a great way to discredit trolls! Mark them down if you see trollish comments.)

Is there an EDIT button?

Answer: OMG YES THERE FINALLY IS AN EDIT BUTTON. I changed this very answer with an edit! Can ya'll believe it? Finally!

What is a troll?

Answer: A troll is a person who posts nonsensical comments that usually anger members of a forum. They are stupid, they cannot be reasoned with, and they will not stop. EVER. UNTIL YOU ARE DEAD. Signs of a troll usually equate to terrible spelling/grammar, swearing, bashing, personal attacks etc. They hate it when they are ignored.

Awesome job, is this posted in the front page? It should be... You should create a new page called the FAQ... if I'm not mistaken, we don't have one and that's odd actually...

What do I do if a troll is bugging me?

Answer: Best thing to do is mark down their comment and report them. Don't "feed" them with your comments, they are fueled by your anger! Just ignore them until they are promptly banned.

Report them to the moderators! 2 moderators you can easily reach are Wild-Kat and LiquidMetal.

Why is everyone on this Wiki so obsessed with Summer Glau?

Answer: Well... come on, she's just SO AWESOME!

LAST WORD OF ADVICE: Respect other members' opinions. Correct them if they are wrong in a blatant fact, but try not to get into a shouting match about something. Argue through evidence and thoughtful debates. Believe me, you'll get much more out of it.

2nd LAST WORD OF ADVICE: Follow the Wiki Code of Conduct!

http://terminatorwiki.fox.com/page/Wiki+Code+of+Conduct

Hopefully, this'll help any of you new Wiki members get started! Now, don't lurk you guys! POST! We want to hear your opinions. I used to be a lurker, and now here I am as a frequent poster with over 1000 posts. :P It's great to talk to people about a show you love! Come on, join in the conversations!

"I suggest adding "Can Cameron get pregnant?" to the FAQ."
I would, but it's apparently "debatable" even though I don't think it is...

She can't... I really don't believe she can at least.

Just go in there and edit away :) Just copy and paste your stuff.. I'd suggest throwing in some bolds in there.. for the different types of FAQs and numbers and whatnot. Or you could put it all down there and this weekend I'll format it.

Alrighty then. Let's consider this the contribution/suggestion/additions thread for the FAQ!

I think I may go on a T:SCC marathon too and rewatch episodes just to make sure I didn't miss anything.

I'm glad to help, even if only 1 person ever finds it informative.

Thanks a whole bunch Schmacky!

I've been busy with swim season starting and what not... :( and I kinda went into an Xbox craze for the four day weekend since I just got XboxLive! lol.

Can I request a sticky (or star thingy whatever) for this thread?

I think it'd be a great idea just so new fans (who won't see the FAQ Page) can look at the forum and immediately see this thread.
