It's been lovely, folks-- a fond farewell from 'The Turk'

Hey all:

Zack Stentz here, the T:SCC writer who's been posting and intermittently answering questions under the handle 'The Turk.' As some of you know, production has wrapped for either the season (if we come back) or for good (if we don't.) Josh, John and the other senior producers are finishing out their post-production duties, but me, my writing partner, and the staff writers have all cleared out our offices and vacated the premises. Which is a longwinded way of saying I won't be around much anymore to interact and answer questions here. My partner Ash and I are using the hiatus to recharge our creative batteries and work on a couple of other projects, both of them very exciting. But I wanted to let you all know that working on T:SCC and playing in Jim Cameron and Josh Friedman's universe has been a high point of my career as a writer, and it's also been a pleasure sharing that enthusiasm and interacting with fans and viewers on this and other forums.

I'll probably check in to answer questions on my partner and I's last episodes, "Today is the Day, Parts I and II." And while I'm realistic about the ratings, I'd love to be doing this again with all of you next season. Until then, have a great time loving the show, hating the show, and talking to each other about the show. The passion all of you hold for the universe and the characters has been a constant inspiration and motivation for us to do the very best job we can in making the T:SCC. You may not always like the results, but we've honestly used all of our energy and whatever talents we have to make the very best episodes we could.

Until next time,
Zack Stentz, aka "The Turk"

It's been good ... I can think of no other place were a writer interacts with fans like this. Thank you for explaining!

The writers have done a great job. Enjoyed the character development. You've showed us it doesn't always have to be about bullets and bombs. The psychological struggles the characters have gone through have been interesting so far.

I hope you change your environment entirely to reset your perspective. Routine can kill creativity.

I just want to add - I think you guys do a great job. You do something that takes talent ... don't listen to whining fans about how episodes sucked. They couldn't do anything near as good as what you guys put out.

Thanks for writing some great episodes in this series, and being so informative on the boards. Good luck with your future projects. Feel free to post about them here. I'm sure I speak for the entire wiki when I say, we're very interested in your projects outside of T:SCC. 3  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

Bah need a better way to quote so this could go on top. Anyways, thanks for being here answering questions, its always fun when someone from the production stops by to chat and interact with the fans.

@Willwood: It's becoming more popular, the first place I at least saw it at was the don murphy boards as he, and a main writer have been on there during the production of 2 main movies, both yelling at people and having fun while giving insight.

Thanks Zack... Whenever I put up the Turk Signal, you have responded... and I thank you for that immensely. I wish you and your family well. Here's hoping you get a third chance to explore
the end of the world (which it would be without a SE3).

Ah, hell.

You guys really are gonna leave us with a cliffhanger. S'okay, not your fault. Your team has done some very fine work and fingers crossed you'll get to continue it.

/Sidenote,yes it's tacky, but if Dollhouse gets axed and you guys don't, see if Eliza Dushku would be willing to play an evil terminator. Her and Mrss. Glau seemed to bounce off of eachother well in the promo and it would be interesting to see Cameron have to deal with an "old friend."

Hopefully, we'll see you guys back for a third season! Until then, good luck with those other projects and thanks for your patience with us. No matter how much we complain sometimes, we really do love this show and appreciate all the love that went into making it. 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

I'd like to have a very generalized idea of just how big a cliffhanger s2 is going to end on too.

Don't need or want any specifics or spoilers, just if the end of S2 is going to be like the end of S1, something completely up in the air. Because that's going to be extremely disappointing if T:SCC is indeed canceled.

And as much as I've loved the writing on the show... I'm quite annoyed that they would do that without knowing that there'd be a season 3. Keeping things open for next year is fine, but if it ends the way it ended in S1, and then not renewed, it's going to be extremely disappointing to say the least. Especially given how avoidable it would have been.

I'd like to know what your thoughts are Turk, on the policy of actually having a sci fi action adventure about the Terminator story after T2 vs. a melodrama with the Terminator name on it but not what fans expect of want - including Fox by the look of their promo (action, Caminotor targeting her guns, etc.)? 2  out of 6 found this valuable. Thank you Zack, for everything. Best of luck in your future endeavors. Thanks for listening to the love, the hate, and the in-between, and for responding when you could.

Yes, we're a tough crowd (as the ratings show all too well), but that does not mean we don't appreciate your hard work. We LOVE Terminator. I am passionate about James Cameron's universe (as are many others), and we really enjoy the fine cast that has been assembled (yes, even Leven!) even if we boo and hiss at some of their characters and how they've been written from time to time.

We do WANT a Season Three, and we hope everyone has learned some very good and very valuable lessons about and from Season 2, that will help you guys and us fans grow and improve and thrive the next time around.

Third times a charm, I'm betting! Do come back and hit that f--king ball out of the park! A Grand Slam home run!

Thank you for taking the time to speak to us rowdy friends. We're waiting with bated breath for these last few episodes as they really do look enticing.

Sincerely, Dan

Completely agree. I just don't get these people.

How has T:SCC ruined or not ruined anything? T1-3 are still T1-3, and T4 is about to come along and give an entirely different, much more action oriented perspective on the Terminator continuity.

But whether you like the show or not, it's no excuse to be that rude.
