I was pretty sure Sarah was lying through her teeth. Riley was nothing but a problem for the Connors, and her death is going to make John think Cameron killed her, and is now lying to him.

I have a feeling John will be the only person who doesnt blame Cam.

This is a possibility. Think about it: If Cameron killed Riley, and knew John would be thrown into a blood-thirsty rapage as a result of finding out, why would she screw herself by handing John the switch to blow her robotic brains to kingdom come?

Why? Because Josh thinks like that.

That's what concerns me anyway. I don't think we'll see any of that in the next episode, though, since Cameron is pretty clearly around for the next three or four episodes anyway.

The finale, however, concerns me. I think Josh meant it when he said "the horse has left the barn, and we're burning down the frakkin' barn".

I venture into this cauldron with caution. I am not one for "posthumous" praise, as I find that a little - how to put this delicately - odd.

I did not like Riley. Why? because the character grated. My posts are on this wiki about how I've felt. I thought more could have been made of the character to give her real impact in LESS time, while driving home the message of what she was about. There was too much BH90.

On the actress herself, I have always taken issue with those who went on about her size - even her greatest admirer on here knows this, if he is honest. I have always said that my own personal tastes run to the "fuller" form, rather than to the emaciated, nutrition-challenged broomsticks with big heads that currently pass for "beauty". They must lose a few braincells in their efforts to become skeletons.

There is no doubt whatsoever, that Summer Glau wipes the floor as Cameron. That's the way it is. She's good. She's golden. Friedman created an absolute gem. If he choses to abuse that, shame on him.

Riley, for me, came in to real being at the very end. It was awesome when she took on Jesse, proving my point that more could have been made of the character a lot sooner, thereby giving her presence within the story much more impact. The way she was drawn made her look foolish, and irritating. I just don't get why she was drawn that way. Everything she was meant to be could have been done, while making her far less annoying, and more interesting. She would still have been disliked as a character - that was her role - but just think of the impact. Jesse is hated; but she's a worthy villain, which is all to the good.

I wish Leven well, and hope no one ever gives her such a traducing role again. She deserves better.

Don't fall off whatever you're sitting on, Notty. This is a straight appraisal.

Yeah, the "Riley From the Future" bit wasn't explored enough. Riley's character only got interesting when we found out from the future, and then we could look on her impressive handling of Cromartie in a new light.

But then, we never really got much of an exploration of the life of a "Tunnel Rat". Summer actually did this better, imo, when she played Allison. Her line: "I eat garbage for dinner", it was just brilliant. Riley needed a line like that. Her "bleached skulls" bit just felt out of place; we needed to build up to a freakout like that.

Poor Levin.
.I cannot imagine what it must have been like for her to read comments about her being a 'plain jane' or a 'whale'.
She is a gorgeous, average sized lady. It was so refreshing to see a non-waif like figure on a popular TV show. Summer and Lena are very slim, so Levin would always look a little larger when sharing the screen with them. Shame on those posters who felt they had a right to abuse her for looking like a woman!
Some people here need to get a girlfriend and then perhaps they will not think that every woman should be a 'fantasy' type.

Yeah... That is a tad concerning for me, actually. Josh is... well, a bloody idiot at times. He seems to write for himself far too often. However, I am sure he is aware that killing Cameron will kill any chances of a season 3. And ending with a cliffhanger will just be repeating the same mistake of season 1.

Spoiler from someone else: So, isn't that why he asked Derek how long he thinks he would last if Cam wanted him dead? John notices all the little bruises and marks. Terminators don't do that. They kill. They don't need a gun to finish hand to hand combat..

I always liked Riley as a plot device, and ran hot and cold on the character. But we were supposed to change our views of the character, as more things about her were revealed. Leven Rambin did her job well in my opinion, and if I see her name listed on any future projects, I will look more closely at them.
After reading her blog, I get the idea that she is a pretty smart girl, and wise for her age. I'm pretty sure she understands that a lot of the negative reaction to Riley was vicarious jealousy, and a sign that she plyed her craft well. IMHO she was one of the better actors in the series. There are others who seem to rely as much on image and celebrity as they do ability.

"Riley Rocks
Leven says goodbye and thanks."
I've found it fascinating that so many fans were unable to distinguish between character and actress. Ms. Rambin did a fine job with a difficult role, getting more in touch with it as time passed. The last few episodes, for all their flaws in other respects, showed her talent to best advantage, never moreso than in her final appearance in the series. Her confrontation with Cameron in the garage was brilliantly done. The way Rambin portrayed terror battling with hope within Riley, as she faced what might be a sudden, violent end was masterful. Same goes for the climactic final scene with Jesse. Courage born of desperation has seldom been portrayed as convincingly.
I agree with others here that the writers could have given Riley much more depth, if they'd portrayed her life as a "tunnel rat" before Jesse snatched her back in time. It would have made the conflicts that must have raged within Riley more understandable and might even have made her more sympathetic to viewers who didn't care for the character as she was written.
I think Leven Rambin has a bright future in acting and that her performance as Riley will help it along. Good luck, Ms. Rambin. I look forward to seeing you in your next role.
