I'll be honest... In the beginning, I didn't like the Riley character at all. Hell, even towards the middle of the season I didn't like her. It really got on my nerves that the Terminator show became a about a love triangle, and not so much about finding The Turk or stopping skynet. But then something happened, and I think it actually has a lot to do with Josh Friedman's brilliance... All the reasons I didn't like her suddenly turned into the exact reasons I've come to appreciate about her.

She was annoying because she embodied all of those traits I hated about the young John Connor (some qualities from T2, some from TSCC) and then some. She was young, stupid, emotional, and often times irrational. Her desire to be noticed seemed to place her (and John) in bad situations. A lot of her qualities quite accurately depict a teenager; the over compensated confidence, need for acceptance, etc. Then we found out that she was actually working with Riley. So what? Big deal... she's now not only annoying, but she's a bitch too. This is where Friedman genius comes in. We see that Jesse is up to no good, and that young, stupid Riley isn't really evil. She's being played. Those annoying characteristics, they aren't an act. They're real. She really isn't as mature or in control as we thought, let alone evil. AND she's being taken advantage of! Her actions and her "youngness" are suddenly placed in the context of this war and the ugly things people will do to win. Now suddenly her past actions show other characteristics. Stupidity and naivete aside, she actually displayed bravery, honor, and all that. I think in the end, her story was really sad and I think she (Levin and her character Riley) really made TSCC a much better show than what it would have been without her. I reacted to her exactly as intended, and I think Levin did a remarkable job of making that happen. Do you find this valuable?

Thank you *cat93* for this thread. Its an ENSEMBLE job....as all know aside from stalkerish fanboys. (Who by the way should be informed, whenever a threat comes in the FBI & Interpol come to places like this to check for potential suspects. ) Do you find this valuable?

BTW. Riley has realized a incredible contra-performance: to lose her man feelings when fighting with a Machine! Metal! :P

there is no evidence that Cameron was coached by Catherine I am thinking more John Connor himself.

Jesse yeah she went insane....

still happy Riley is dead and the Jesse/Riley story line is dead and buried

I love the fact that Riley is dead now John Connor isn't acting like an Emo bitch but John Connor. Do you find this valuable?

I'm hoping there are more people that didn't hate Riley now that there are more people on this site.
I think she was a really cool character from the start. It was so cool how she met John for the first time and was like : "Do you have 20 bucks...I'm still hungry."

-She was also a very interesting character and you have to admit, all her scenes were interesting.

-She did not come in between Jameron. If anything, she aroused more Jameron

- She's a character to feel very sorry for, as she was just an innocent girl and was treated so terribly by one of the only people that mattered to her(Jesse)

- she was just a really cool, random and non-superficial character and I, for one, was quite sad when she died- although it was kind of inevitable.

You may have hated her, but can everyone honestly say all her scenes were uninteresting?
I, personally, think she was an awesome aspect to the show, and even though I'm okay with her dying , she had a great part to the season."

It was probably some jackass that somehow percieved this thread to be an attack on Summer.
