What Was Cameron Really Sent Back For?

Okay, so in the Season Finale when Cameron gives her chip to John Henry, and then John Henry goes forward in time and John Connor follows him, John Connor no longer exists. Isn't that was Skynet wanted? Isn't that what they sent Cromartie back to do, get rid of John Connor? Was Cameron sent back to protect John Connor or was she sent back to get rid of him? Is that the secret behind the message "will you join us?"? I suspected something from the start, when she tried to kill him, when she twitches, I never trusted her. Cameron did leave, I call it betrayal or abandonment. You will find many here are so caught up in this Jameron "stuff" that they will never even talk about what Cameron's motives are. Its sad. Because they are not allowed to say anything bad about Cameron. Even though she is a lying murderous robot.
