"Since Cameron must have such a light endo-frame, I think they should make her a bit lighter on her feet. I really thought the ballet thing from season 1 was interesting, but they never developed it. I do think it was plausible that she could have learned to move more gracefully from dance training, and some of that finesse could be applied to combat situations. "
That could make her more agile that the T888s. I never thought about how the dancing could help her with everyday movements and combat movements. But it's certainly a possibility.

Better get away from this thread, then, or you'll be out like a light.

"Hey, thanks! I like to be irreverent at times, to compensate for an otherwise dour disposition.

And I know thinking too much about movie plots can get you into trouble... but sometimes I can't resist. It can be fun, trying to come up answers that weren't supplied by the creators/writers."

yea, there's a lot of that doom & gloom floating about...

I've seen a few people say T:SCC is the only show they watch....I'm in their boat; it's the only show I watch..I liked the first season better (I'd be willing to bet, no one has seen "Heavy Metal" as many times as I have; never get tired of Sarah sticking the knife in the table and telling the hired thug, "You can go....if you can get past her" ), but everyone has their own opinions on which shows (or seasons) were better. I can live with the diversity.

equally irreverent & insouciant,

In terms of brute strength, I'd think Cameron would be at a disadvantage against, say, Vick. I made a fight scene with some T888s, where I had her avoid direct combat, like a small boxer vs a brawler. Then I gave her a nifty way to take the initiative, that didn't involve tossing or punching.

I liked season 1, too. True, it was short and therefore easier to maintain quality, but still... I don't think season 2 had 9 straight shows as good as the first 9.

And yes, TSCC is the only show I watch; I'm very capricious.

Good analogy. The T-888's are big and strong, but they're also slow and exposed, while Cameron would quick and easier to cover herself.

I always think of Arnold with the big ones; not only are their actual frames larger and heavier, but they also carry more muscle (fake or not, it must weigh something). So I do kind of like the notion of a really thin, light terminator. It's not unbelievable at all that Cameron could be effective, just so long as you don't try to make a thug out her; that's when people start to get incredulous.

"Not in the future. And John could go back in time to the 80's, and then get amnesia, and then find Sarah attractive... ahh, time travel, don't you love it? "
Ga! John could create his own future!!! How can someone make love to their Mom to create themselves?!

It's for situations like this that physicists say backwards time travel is impossible... let's hope they are right.

"It's for situations like this that physicists say backwards time travel is impossible... let's hope they are right. "

It’s not just physicists that postulate the incoherence of backwards travel to events that have already transpired. There’s another thread floating around that “JMHthe3rd” offered some rationale into the impossibility of single-line time travel into a past event. I offered him good luck in his attempt. I didn’t stay in the thread.

I don’t think I want to try, other than this – You can’t modify a past event in **this** universe. JFK was shot in November of 1963 – he can’t be saved, EVER…The **physical** event that occurred in three dimensional space and in time is over. It’s not a tape or movie – no rerun & no edit.

Now, if there happen to be some parallel universe (or many) that was “running behind” this universe by about 100 years, you could fantasize about traveling to **that** universe on the 22nd of November, 1963 and jumping into the motorcade vehicle and pushing Kennedy out of the way; HOWEVER, you didn’t save “our” Kennedy – you saved “theirs”. That’s about as close as you can make a case for.

All the stuff about “forward time travel” (Which Einstein posited as a possibility) is based on relativistic speeds. We won’t be approaching light speed any time soon…

I agree with this completely. That's why terminator makes no sense! It never did, from T1 on. If Arnold killed Sarah or John, "future" John wouldn't just evaporate as he was giving his victory speech. Arnold would have to live on in the timeline he altered, to actually reap the benefits of a Connor-less world.

Nonetheless, I'll forgive James Cameron for such an oversight; how else would he have gotten such a ridiculously advanced cyborg to the present time? I mean, the terminator tech seems decades away from even today's tech, much less the 80s.

Time travel in movies is just another kind of deus ex machina; it's best to use it sparingly. Very, very sparingly. Otherwise the plot will dissolve.

cp442's Inspirational Quote of the Day:

"They couldn't hit an elephant at this dista-"

General John Sedgewick, Spotsylvania, 1864.

He was shot in the eye before he finished the sentence.
