Well, this can't be bad -- the NYT liked it (and even mentions TSCC). A few excerpts from the Review (at, http://movies.nytimes.com/2009/05/21/movies/21term.html?8au&emc=au)"Some things are saved [in "Salvation"], even redeemed, in the course of the movie, including, perhaps, the audience’s interest in killer cyborgs from the future and the fate of the Connor family." "[This background from prior T-movies ] that’s without getting into the metaphysics of time travel, the self-updating allegory of technological anxiety, “The Sarah Connor Chronicles” on television or the complex development of a malignant military application called Skynet." "featuring a bald Helena Bonham Carter" " [the movie] has a brute integrity lacking in some of the other seasonal franchise movies. It parades neither the egghead aspirations of “Star Trek” nor the thick-skulled pretensions of “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” but instead feels both comfortable with its limitations and justly proud of its accomplishments." " [ It ]is densely populated with semi-important characters and crammed with exposition and incident, but it rarely feels busy or talky — and a mastery of the vernacular of chases, fights, explosions and crashes." "With its clanks and creaks and broken-down contraptions, this movie is a battered Wall-E to “Star Trek’s” sleek and seamless Eve. Which is fitting, since part of the point of the Terminator movies is to register ambivalence about technological progress, which fills our lives with all kinds of cool, convenient stuff that somehow brings an intimation of our eventual obsolescence. “Terminator Salvation,” digitally engineered to approximate a rough, analog feel, is less a cautionary tale than a consumer advisory. Enjoy your new gadgets, but don’t let them out of your sight, and don’t forget where the off switch is." Do you find this valuable? |

Imdb is a minefield of spoilers. I wouldn't recommend going there for reviews.

The movie was good.I didn't like the directing style at times (Helicopter crash, for one) But the actual movie was good. Yea, it was kind of odd that there just happened to be a bunch of military craft around with a bunch of fuel. Some bad ass fights. Kyle kicks ass. Rose was cool ... always was in the right place at the right time with the right tool. Do you find this valuable? |

The movie was AWESOME!! It was new, but paid respects to everything that is classic Terminator. What I liked most was seeing Skynet and how it works; the camps, factories, command center, arsenal, it was great. The acting was sort of ho hum, but the action more than made up for it. This movie will be a killer blockbuster! Props to Linda and Arnold for lending a hand and giving a seal of approval. Nice to hear the old phrases, and even a song from the original Cameron directed flicks. Go see the movie, you will not be disappointed! 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

the movie was awsome!!!there was one nod to the tv series in the score. In the main title you can here the opening theme of the 1st season titles in the background. Christian Bale's performance was great. He is more of the John of TSCC as he is a computer hacker genius. You can see sarah's imprints on John through his speech and Fighting style. Bales performance was great all round. my complaint was about Kate. She seemed like a throw away character that served little purpose to the story or Johns character. the scene's she is in she does her best but... really Johns only main adviser through out the movie is sarah through her monolouges on her tapes. all in all i give the movie 5/5 Ps. I hope Summer is in the next one 3 out of 6 found this valuable. Do you? |

She's the base doc and John's confidant. I didn't see Sarah's tapes as John's adviser per say... but he probably did draw strength from them and the second time he was listening to them he was hoping to find answers. They weren't going to put a lot of exposition on Kate... she's the base doc and John's wife... with everything going on in that movie and all the characters they had, what more should they have done with her? ahh this thread makes me a little more optimistic after reading the reviews. T4 may make a pretty crappy week in the terminator verse just a little less crappy after all.

I read almost all the RT reviews...To begin with, the reviews were mixed, breaking about 2-1 against T4. BUT, a lot of the negative reviews were written by non-Terminator fans who had unrealistic expectations. The positive reviews tended to say "sure, the movie has its flaws but I liked what I saw." Not every film is striving to knock Citizen Kane off of the All Time Top 100 Films List. The New York Times gave T4 a thumbs up. Me, I want to see brutal warfare in a dark, post-nuclear-holocaust America...see SkyNet...watch J.C. step up... 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Nick Stahl did a better job as an adult John Connor. Why did they cast that tool Christian Bale? I wanted to see Claire Danes too. Bryce Dallas Howard did a good job. But, for me Kate Brewster aka Conor is Claire Danes. The movie was pretty good. I tried to ignore Christian Bale as much as possible. Just hearing his voice reminds me of that F bomb rant he unloaded during filming. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
