Ok , so I went to see Terminator Salvation this past weekend.I really liked it , but , it did need some more "fleshing" out of the story. I would have preferred the story picking up right after JD. The action and special effects are first rate and I thought the Arnie cameo was cool , even if he was cgi . Looks like a T5 and T6 are in the future , as Christian Bale has signed on to do 3 films in total for the Terminator series. I'd like to see a story similar to TSCC for T5 or T6 , with an infiltrator female ( Cameron/Alison ??) but , I doubt McG and the guys would go for that !! All in all , T4 is a really good action film 8 out of 10 for me . 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

Great, expensive, special effects. Story lacking. Not one tenth the show The Sarah Connor chronicles is.

Well, the story was just... boring, like small talk. There where no characters to care for, no characters that mattered much, i mean yeah, john connor is having trouble becoming the leader of the resistance, they did that story in a way that made me say: So what? And there was little to no showing the different developements of terminators, and very few endoskeletons in the film, i expected what i saw in the flashbacks of the other moviesin the form of an actual movie, i expected a war movie too, so i thought i was gonna see hundreds of people holding hundreds of terminators and HK tanks And HK jets And T1s etc etc away from a key strategic location, i expected to see some squad work and special tactics against machines, and new weapons being developed, and i expected huge surprises from skynet that has made incredibly smart decisions that make your mouth hang open until the film finishes, i expected so many things and saw none of them. I had this feeling in my gut that you get when you know you just have to sit here and watch the **** thing until it finishes, and you certainly won't like it either. I also expected the big ending that mcg spoke of, the one where i will walk to my car and think that it means this and my father will think it means that etc etc, how does (spoiler alert) john surviving from a hart transplant make me think ANY of that? and i think there was not enough of the RIGHT action, too little of T1s shooting you, too little of terminators causing carnage, but plenty of explosions. And the robots seen in the film were unoriginal, a mototerminator? an eel terminator? bah.

McG signature is obvious. The character study was appealing, I would love to see more of the connection and tension between Marcus and Blair characters just like we used to with Chuck and Sarah. As in our beloved TSCC, John Connor is able see the problems from different angles unlike other humans. He does not have prejudice agains the "machine". He simple tries to understand them, to win. Pretty good Terminator movie. Thanks McG. Do you find this valuable? |

"Uh...why delay winning the war? Why not kill him and inherit the Earth instantly? Game Over."The funny thing is killing Kyle wouldn't cause John to just fade away. That would be stupid. John would still exist, and could therefore still win the war, it would just create like a split timeline where there is no John Connor and Skynet wins. So, in short, I fail to see what THIS Skynet in THIS timeline has to gain by killing Kyle. It's better to kill Sarah in the past. It would be more effective. Do you find this valuable? |

But I'm going to have to say my biggest disappointment was that they changed it where it was safer to travel in day than in night. In T1, Kyle said they moved around at night because it was safer. This is also shown in TSCC. That should have been shown in this film.

"I thought the Arnie cameo was cool , even if he was cgi .Yeah, but even still, it was hard to tell that he was. It was so convincing. The most convincing Digital Makeup I've ever seen, though, is Harvey Two Face in The Dark Knight. I think we need to see how Christopher Nolan would handle Terminator, even if it's like a remake of T1 like tying in with T4's altered events and everything. (kind of like Batman Begins, I guess, though that doesn't involve timelines and time travel.) Do you find this valuable? |

I saw T4. My first reaction was it's a good action film, interesting story, but it doesn't add anything to the Terminator story. It would make a good novel in the series but not a film. The film should build on previous work by adding to the legend and story of John Connor and his fight against the machines. This film didn't. We didn't learn anything new about the characters. The film was so focused on Marcus, that John was reduced to being just another supporting role. Highly disappointing.
