I mention that because in an interview BAG said that they deliberately did not make John badass, they wanted to tell the story about how he came to be the badass saviour of humanity. I sense that John seems to be lacking a sense purpose but then again he's a teenager at this stage. Hope for the best and prepare for the worst would be the sensible approach rather than "run, hide, let mum stop Judgment Day".

"I was pretty sure that Allison would end up being important too. How long would she have been around? I don't know, but she'd definitely have been significant. The writer's staff on this show liked to give us curve balls with season finales, and since they more or less copied the "Cameron in peril" aspect from the S1 finale with BTR, I figure it's pretty likely they'd have done the same with the S3 premiere that they did the S2 premiere. Hit us with what we're not expecting. Maybe Kyle or Allison would have ended up being a villain lol."
