For all of you that have said I was a proponent of TSCC being dumbed down because I though it should really be a sci fi action thriller, and used the excuse that having JF not make it a slow, dark, emo itroverted melodrame - well you got your wish

Now there is a movie out that gives you exactly what you dreaded, and yes, it is very, very bad.

For the record, this is NOT what I wanted, nor intended, and I really want to set that straight with all of you.

You can have action and smart drama/writing. The two don't have to do without each other - JF just chose to do it that way.

Now then, we all love the show (TSCC) - so don't go there. The show was well written - don't go there either. What it was lacking (sometimes) was it's TErminator core: the plots, characters and story arcs seemed to lose sight of JDay hitting this planet in less than 18 months and half the world's population dying in one day. Our heroes seemed to lose the sense of urgency to stop this - being distracted with their own persual musings, which were obviously more important that 3 billion people's lives.

No more rant, I'm just calling it like I saw it...

But this movie is a prime example of what BAD "sci fi" is; in fact, it is not even sci fi, it is cartoon fantasy, of which I am sure we'll see more on ala "G.I. Joe." James Cameron;s story was engaging, but also had depth, and was smaet without having to get "sappy" on you.

True T4 had something missing too, and the last really good smart sci fi we had was BSG. Fringe has promise, but the jury is still out on it. The lastest Star Trek movie was good, but it only did what is was supposed to do in a new iteration. That may not be as easy as it seems (we can look at our own series for that) but I am bringing these points up to show the difference between what an old (since 1984) T fan wants to see of the roots and heritage I thought TSCC could have - and maybe been as big as Lost.

What people that wanted to argue said was I wanted TSCC to be the new Transformers movie.

What I have found is you weren't paying attention by saying that. You were grabbing at anything to "prove" TSCC couldn't possibly be any better. I respect that, as a fellow fan, but I don't believe that is true.

And now you have proof: if TSCC fans are as smart and talented as WE think they are, NO ONE would produce a pile of time wasting junk like the Trans 2 product - unless they were taking their 10 year old nephew to see it!

About Transformers: Did you expect something else? If you did, you should stop watching movies / tv shows all together.

When I heard Terminator was going to be presented in a tv format, I could not be more offended. When I heard they were making a movie of Transformers, I could not be more happy. I was wrong about both projects. as happy as I am about TTSCC, that angry and disappointed I am about the Transformers movies. The way the actor that did Optimus Primes voice got casted was just a slap in the face for all the hardcore Transformers G1 fans. From that point, all went south with the project. That is all I am going to say about Transformers. If not, I would be typing for days.

All I remember was taking my son to the toy store to buy those things (he is 25 now).

I recall I fasinated I became with the engineering that went into them that they could be made into various recognizable shapes. I also thought it was a complete waste as a cover IF you have that capability...but then, I thought Superman should have just stayed that way as a full time job. He didn't need a "cover: all he had to do was crush coal into diamonds any time he needed money!

I thought the first T movive was cute, but this one is clearly to bring in jjuveniles and turn them into drones: prolly a plot by Hulu.com to turn their brains into mush.

I found the Night At the Museum 2 movie to be a load of crap as well, and suspect Murdock behind a plot to take down Terminator at every turn to build up sales for their own product.

Anyone have numbers for how much T4 has grossed worldwide so far?

Great, that means that it is a "financial success" right? Wasn't the cost $200 and the break-even $230 mil?

So all the crap in the media about T4 was just that: crap.

Murdock put a team of spin doctors to make the franchise look bad - because it was merely competition. They may have helped submarine TSCC as fallout: collateral damage. Greedy bastards!

I'll check out this article. Thank you.

I wish they had more info other than just the raw numbers. Since the media made so BIG a deal about how T4 was a "flop" and a "dissapointment" I wonder what analysts are saying now? 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I LOVE Voltron, and can't wait for the movie, but I do actually want to see the Transformers. I like the first one, but I know what to expect from Michael Bay. Watching robot fights is what I expect and is ok with me

Good luck seeing what the action is - you really can''t SEE it. Things move and change so fast - ALL THE TIME - that it is geared for kids zonked on sugar with ADHD.

Not an enjoyable visual experience.

And although you really had to suspend disbelief when the big human harvester started snatching people in T4, this just gets to be way too much: you get wonr out before the opening credits even roll.

And then the plot and the dialogue will REALL sink you into a blue funk...

Anybody remember Unltraman? At least he dicked the crap out of a city on purpose - and he wasn't trying to hide as a truck while doing it!

Somehow, it that simpler time, two guys in a rubber suit fighting each other where you could see the strings on the "fighter jets" wizzing by made more sense to me.

At least I could follow the action!

I Trans 2 it is very hard to tell who is what fighting who why and which one is winning. Sheeesh!

I didn't think the first one was that bad, that might be because I don't have such a denigrating view of Megan Fox. I'm not crazy about her either but I think some people just hate her. Same goes for Bay's movies. Do you find this valuable?

Trans -2 is still going to be a huge hit. Why? Because most movie goers HAVE the mentality of a 10 year old. They don't want to think. They want to be entertained. I've got several friends who walk into a theater with this "show me" attitude, they walk out of a crap action flick and think it was awesome (These guys loved Crank, just to give you an example). I point out stupid parts of the movie and they look at me like I'm a jerk for exposing glaring plot holes.

I don't mean stuff about a TV show, inconsistencies, changes in plot or in character I don't like, I mean really idiotic stuff. Like in Van Helsing, when a spare carriage appears OUT OF NOWHERE and we're supposed to be "surprised" or Indiana Jones surviving a nuclear bomb in a fridge. These guys like this kind of stuff.

Yeah, it's pathetic. Frankly I'd like to force all Americans to grow up a lot in their movie/TV tastes, but then they'll just get mad and call me a Fascist.
