Saving Sarah Connor: Super Sizing

We've been writing letters, sending postcards, tweeting and emailing to have our voices heard. Now we're going bigger.
The idea:

a mobile billboard that drives around Los Angeles (with special attention to places like The WB headquarters) advertising our show and our efforts. We're currently working on a mockup of the design that will go on the billboard, which will be posted here once complete.

If you cannot donate via Paypal or credit card but still want to contribute to the billboard fund, please contact me at aelysian@savethescc.com

The details:

Time: Three days (minimum) = 24 hours

Size: 10'H x 20'W (that's 3.048m x 6.096m)

Cost: $750/day + $1250 setup = $3500

We want to coincide the billboard with the release of the Season Two DVD/Blu-Ray in the United States, so once production time is factored in, the fundraising deadline is:
August 20th 2009

Errr.... Salvation wasn't a big success:

"It'll need double its budget to be considered a successful summer blockbuster.
That's, at minimum, $400,000,000, and it stands at $320,300,000 now.

In the US it has made $119.7 million, and won't make much more than that.
So the foreign market is win or lose now.

It has made $200.6 million in the international market now, while being out for three weeks in most countries.
Early last week it had grossed $164.8 million internationally, and made $35.8 million dollars last week (weekend *included*.)

It made $97.2 million in the first week of international release.
$66.8 million in the second week. (31.3% drop)
$35.8 million in the third and most recent week. (46.5% drop.)

Let's pretend it maintains a 33% weekly drop rate, similar to the first week (which it won't.)
If that was the case (and it'd be really good if it was the case), then Salvation would make:
$22.5 million this week.
$15 million the following week.
$10 million.
$6.6 million.
$4.4 million.

The sum of that is $61 million.
Add that to the $200 million it has already made internationally, plus (an estimated) $130 million that it could make in the US, and the final gross will be around $391,000,000 dollars.

That is both less than T3 and less than twice its budget."

This was crunched and calculated last Tuesday.
The international box office hasn't been updated since then, but it won't be enough to save the film financially - EVEN if it only had a 33% drop each week from now on (as explained above).

BUUUUUT let's save TSCC anyway.
Because it rocks.

EDIT: Wait a nose picking minute here...
This is Schmacky's idea.
