http://mashable.com/2009/06/30/breaking-the-pirate-bay-sold-for-7-8-million/

The Pirate Bay has been sold for $7.8 million. The new owners claim nothing will change on the site, but I'm hearing that starting in August, people will be required to pay to download.

I guess all good things must end.

Did the old or new owners at least have the decency to take time out of their busy schedules to write us a LETTER?

mininova is OK, but all their torrents, 99 % of them use torrents with a PB tracker, so essentially they are PB torrents.
if the torrents can't speak to the tracker servers no seeds, yes we know where this is going.

Mininova is just an indexer anyway, they don't have a tracker.

There are other trackers, but TPB was a big one. A really big one. Will be interesting to see how things will develop now.
Maybe in the end this is a good thing. Because there are people who say that we have gotten complacent with relying on TBP so much.
I can't fault these people really, they do have a point. So this crap TPB is doing might in the end cause less centralization, which, as said, is a good thing.

yea, that is going to be a major problem for Mininova.

Both me and my dad are doing some searching into other websites, so if we find anything, I'll let you all know.

So am I man.

There are a few good torrent sites out there, but nothing could top TPB. I don't know how I'm going to go on living now.

I never used piratebay...
I searched with Torrentz.com and just clicked the first link, then added all the trackers listed.
Maybe one of them was piratebay, maybe not.
