Playing T:SCC Music on Violin!

Well, I just got a voice recorder thingy for college and I thought I'd test it out with my violin... So... I just busted out with an excerpt from T:SCC which I memorized a while ago.It's basically "Sarah's theme" from what I memorized from Bear McCreary's website when he posted bits of sheet music from T:SCC. It's pretty much the most prominent theme on the show and I think it's the most memorable. But anyway, what do you guys think of the quality? Ain't bad for a voice recorder. ^^ I can play Nocturne in C# Minor by Chopin (IE: Cameron's ballet music), but I'm probably not gonna upload it until I feel more confident with the song. Great effort, Trigger. A violin is a real hard instrument to play, so kudos to you for learning it.Giving you a honest and friendly opinion, and being by no means a music expert (it shows), I felt, however, that the tempo in a few of the chords was a little off, too short. Trying to explain myself better, I felt like some of the sounds played should have lasted longer in order to match the original better. Do try. Do you find this valuable? |

I did tweak the lengths of the notes a bit, but this is purely from memory so that may be why it's probably not accurate. ^^ Also, I'll admit this was my first attempt at recording so I probably should've done a few more and picked the best one! I'm horrible I know! Please anyone, feel free to give me constructive criticism! :) Do you find this valuable? |

Oh, eep, now that I listen to it again I did get a little carried away with the longevity up my notes... hmm, maybe i'll make a new version just to compare later, haha.

Actually I think I can play some Firefly/Serenity music too! I just gotta listen to the soundtracks a few times and get the notes down. I'm gonna try that tomorrow!Anyone got suggestions/requests? (Remember it HAS to have a violin part! My guitar skills leave MUCH to be desired.) Also if anyone wants me to try some more T:SCC stuff just send me a recording or actual sheet music and I'll try it too. Do you find this valuable? |

"NiceThanks! I've been playing violin since I was in 5th grade (about 7 years) although I admit I have really been neglecting practicing for awhile now. This whole recording thing is new to me, and it's actually nice being able to hear myself play! It really uncovers a lot you don't hear while you're playing it. Do you find this valuable? |

I wish I had musical talent. I've had a guitar for years but never been able to pick it up... I think my hands/fingers are too big. Thinking about trading it in for a bass..but I like to keep it around my apartment because people always come over that can actually play and jam out on it.But yea. I can't think of any other TSCC stuff on violin off my head, but if there is stuff, DO IT NOW. :) Do you find this valuable? |

It's a PAAAAAAAAAAAIN playing any string instrument with my small hands and tiny pinkys! So annoying! And for the T:SCC stuff, I do know John's theme but it's pretty basic and boring compared to Sarah's so I'm not even going to bother. Do you find this valuable? |

If you listen to the real one its a little longer on the sounds or whatever (I know hardly any music vocabulary). I think it would be better if you matched the original more. It was good regardless though. Do you find this valuable? |

Alright so tomorrow I shall be working on getting up The Funeral from Serenity and the Out of Gas theme from Serenity! :PEDIT: I'm gonna learn the Terminator movie theme too since it seems simple enough, lol Do you find this valuable? |
