"Allison had said to her "Will you join us?""

Am I missing something here? When did Allison say that to Cameron?

Edit: He probably meant Weaver

Ellison (not Alison).

Also did I hear JF right. Cameron knew John was going to follow her into the future?

Important: I've only listened to it once.
I thought he said that she knew he'd follow her when she left, so she wanted to remind him that he's "in love with a machine", in an attempt to stop him coming after her.

But like I say, I've only listened (not even watched) once.
My internet's going too slowly to reload it.

Notty will have a field day with this; realistically, JF hems and haws a lot here. It's maddening that he's still vague about this (notice where they're discussing the "functionality" Josh says "well, maybe there's something more to what Cameron's doing..."

Also, there's no real confirmation that Cameron returns the feelings, so...

It seemed like SG found that scene as cringeworthy as I did. She couldn't even talk. 4  out of 7 found this valuable. Do you?

No. Dekker is obviously a Glau fanboy - and has been drooling over her all series from what I understand.

JF wrote this knowing he had nothing to lose approach: which was exactly what the RST of the finale was about! Also, he knew it wouldn't hurt HIS involvement with the fan base, since most of them are Jameron shippers. Give 'em what they want (at least a little taste), let them buzz about it, could be a factor if anyone else picks up the story (the fans will clamour for whoever will GIVE them what THEY want).

The evidence of this is how contrived the (fake) "love"/pseudo-sex scene is done. Ever see a surgeon have to climb on top of someone in order to perform heart or lung surgery? Of course not.

My stance is this means nothing. JF didn't write this scene or much of the finale true to what Terminator or TSCC was all about, IMO. This scene was done for political reasons, and clearly was not not done for artistic ones.

In other words, JF manipulated us by sticking this scene in, and the really bad thing is we had no choice but to sit there and let him do that to us.

For the flamers out there..."suspending belief" is a kind statement to defend this garbage. It was a fantasy sidebar, and had nothing to do with anything that matters in TSCC or Terminator mythos. Go ahead and join Dekker if you like - I'm sure he enjoyed himself - but overall the finale exposes that JF really is no longer a valid provider of TSCC canon; that he is willing to put up logicially irresponsible scenes just for their popularity value is a travesty.

Meanwhile, as I said, while their playing let's rub bellybuttones the world is gonna blow up in a few short months and half the world's population is gonna die in one day - and these two are the only ones left that can stop it!

Priorities seem a tad askew, from that viewpoint, if you ask me.

But then, fans have told me that this isn't about Terminator" anyway: it's a "family drama."

So that means the use of the franchise name as the lead-in to create an audience is a lie.

I agree.
She wants him to know that he's in love with a machine, in the hope that it'll discourage him from following her into danger.

And, obviously, that completely backfires.

That's what I gathered from what Friedman says.
But, like I said before, I need to relisten to it at some point.

Preemptive Edit: Before anybody says otherwise, I've held this interpretation since before this interview.
Didn't need Friedman's commentary to make the penny drop.

2:02 " its a way of completing the circle so so they're together so that he will follow her, if she goes somewhere..."

The intent seems to be to get him to follow.

Same.

I also believed what Friedman said about Cameron

this was as intimate as Cameron can get to someone.
