Why do people seem to HATE T4 Now?

I was just taking a trip down memory lane (i.e. going through my old posts just for the hell of it) and I found this...http://terminatorwiki.fox.com/thread/2853360/Post+Your+Terminator+Salvation+Reviews+Here?maxResults=20 Now please, correct me if i'm wrong, but why did everyone give glowing reviews for T4 then and now everyone seems to hate it? I mean my opinion hasn't changed... I disliked it then and I dislike it now (and I was CRUCIFIED for hating it back when it came out if you somehow dig up the review I put up in that thread as proof...) So yah... I don't understand. What happened? I understand some people still enjoyed it, but at the time a good majority here liked it and now a good majority of us seem to hate it. I'm just curious as to why this happened. My theory? All the "true" T:SCC fans stayed and a lot of the casual fans left. That's pretty much all I got. ^^ Do you find this valuable? |

I'm critical of T4 because I do believe it failed in a lot of areas, but overall I did enjoy the movie.

The fact that T4's box office performance was somewhat underwhelming might have also incurred some resentment; ultimately, T4 did little to strengthen the franchise, financially or creatively. Do you find this valuable? |

I mean, for example, Serenity is my favorite movie of all time, but I know it has it's faults. I think it may be that people hadn't taken time to absorb the movie at the time and I guess since then, people have picked out the flaws and changed their opinion? I just think it's so weird because people changed their opinion of T4 so readily... Do you find this valuable? |

It was choppy and felt pieced together. It felt like a bunch of TV episodes mashed in.Some stuff made no sense. Hydrobots outside Connor's base, for example. Ashdown getting a big case of Da Stoooopids after leading the Resistance competently for 14 years. JC attacking like the messiah. Terminators which can't shoot worth ****. The incredibly lame power cell=mini nuclear explosion from T3. The ******* ridiculous and totally bull sh it heart transplant at the end and Marcus's incredibly lame death. He saved the day and the only character worth a damn is killed off. From my perspective it looked like that spear the T800 had went through Connor's heart. I don't know how he survived. What was the point of a Harvester? You probably could get 30, 40, or 50 terminators or more from the material used to build one harvester. A T600 is already incredibly strong. Building 30 of them could be more economical than the harvester. It was a mech for throwing in a mech. Do you find this valuable? |

But again, why did people not recognize these when it came out and why did the consensus in regard to T4's quality change so much? Do you find this valuable? |

I don't think the 3 minute longer "Director's Cut" has helped to endear many of the former T4 fans who were looking forward to a "really good Director's Cut with forty minutes of cut footage."

"I felt the same way with a lot of T4's inconsistencies!I saw it because it was terminator. I was really hoping for the promised 30ish minutes of extended scenes. Then they lied about it and now it's like 3 minutes. I'll wait to see if a true extended cut comes out. Do you find this valuable? |

I enjoyed the movie.Was I satisfied as a Terminator fan? No. I enjoyed it because it WAS Terminator themed. If not for that, I would probably not like the movie. Do you find this valuable? |
